  • Loving your laptop deals!

    45% NTSC

aka 68% sRGB. Expect response times to be horrific as well… this isn't suitable for outdoor use, gaming, or anything remotely needing colour accuracy.

It's not really usable or enjoyable and shouldn't be sold in a consumer product today.

Not to mention the 250nits, good luck using that anywhere remotely lit up indoors.

      • The only time you'd be struggling indoors is if you had studio lights shining right at the screen… 100 nits is a dark room standard for full contrast, 160 nits is normal for daylight coming into the room.

250 nits is only an issue for niche professional uses and outdoors, which is why I mentioned outdoors.

        • Disagree, I have a 350 nit laptop and only the top two brightness settings are usable during the day unless I'm not in any direct light (including ceiling light). If you've either got a bright office/room or are nearby a window then there's a fair bit of struggle

          • @chrismheath: Either your lights are incredibly bright, or your screen isn't up to spec (assuming that's meant to be a 100% white measurement).

Either way, you'd be hard pressed to find any expert recommending beyond 300, and most wouldn't push past 200. Regardless, this screen is terrible and I'm not here to argue with you.

  • I want to get one for couch gaming but does anyone know if 4GB video ram enough for modern games? I've recently got a steam deck and want something for the TV so I can continue where I left off. I've got games like elden ring, cyberpunk etc. I'm happy with 1080p medium-high settings, 60fps.

  • Why suddenly so many 3050 laptop posts? Plus this one is only 4GB vram, at this price should be expecting the newer 6GB version instead.
