Great bargain @ 43% ABV.
I have purchased from the (un)related Brisbane Distillery and they came fairly quick. Good tasting gins for the price.

500ml is cheeky, that works out to $46.20 for a standard 700ml package. You can get legitimate brands for less at Dan Murphys (Gordons is $43.90 RRP) and don't have to spend $99 either.

You forgot shipping. It's $51 per 700ml. Not bad for 43%
No idea if it's any good.
Gordon's is pretty trash by the way.

Taste is subjective, I've not found it unpalatable, if using reasonable tonic and fresh lime.

        • It's barely acceptable, I can drink it. But it's 37%, the bare minimum to be considered a spirit in Australia. In other countries it couldn't be sold as a spirit.

      • Gordon's isn't 'craft' or 'artisinal', not going to blow your mind, but it really is fine. I tried a blind taste test showdown of beefeater, tanqeuray, gordons, and cleanskin gin from liquorland - Cleanskin had a bit of fruityness to it, but they are all just slight variations on the same recipe, it's hard to tell any difference.

ABV is different, 700ml of these is 23.8 std and 700ml Gordons is 20 std.

For a standard drink my napkin calculations are around $2.0 for this brand vs $2.2 for Gordons.

Edit: i forgot the shipping which would make Gordons cheaper

      • True, but if booze content is the only consideration there's plenty of gutrot spirits around for much less.

        • I miss the days when inner circle rum was cheap. That stuff would burn a hole straight through your liver. Now they market it as a craft, low volume thing with a price to go with it but I imagine it's still rocket fuel.

@freefall101: My favourite shit spirit is Frigate Rum & Dry, 4x440ml cans for $7 circa 2005, absolute gutrot but for a bunch of graffiti writing uni student bong heads it was manna from heaven.

@The Judge: Woodstock was too fancy for you, eh?

I went with the 2L bottles of 20% alcohol port for $8 (probably a few years earlier though, maybe 2002). A ripper way to have the hangover from hell the next morning.

Honestly surprised I made it to 25 sometimes, the human body is amazing at what it can tolerate.

@freefall101: Absolutely not, Woodies were a mainstay of the arsenal used to achieve temporary braindeath each & every week from Thu-Sun. I think the apogee was $14/6pack of big cans…you could get a stick, pack of smokes & s 6pack of Woodies for under $50…Saturday night sorted!

  • Get six bottles. There's six varieties to try. Works out cheaper too of course.
    Hope I don't go blind

  • I have been getting ads lately from multiple different brands offering this $99 for 3x 500ml gin. Wonder if they are all the same, with different names. One comment about the price mentioned it was due to them being under the alcohol tariff threshold and about to clear out cheaply.

Do due diligence. I don't get great vibes

I aborted a deal from Brisbane Distillery based on
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/778017 and FB reviews

  • I purchased from the similar deal from queensland distillary, almost certain this is the same mob.

Gins arrived quickly and have been happy with them. Have been seeing the ads for these and tempted to stock up on these too

  • Is this the same people?

  • Thanks OP, I took the opportunity to try a few different gins at a good price.
