Dunno. I'd love one for my use case if someone doesn't want their free one

Another useless product that Rupert Murdoch is peddling in between his nonsense. He and his execs realise their pay tv model is on the way out and still want a piece of the action.

    • -4

I understand your dislike of Murdoch, but to bash a company for adjusting to the times is pretty strange.

Do you commend a company such as Blockbuster who didn't recognise the new trend of streaming and went bankrupt?

      • +3

Think for the most part his implying foxtel is dead and murdoch is trying to get into the streaming business with this hubbl bs. To me they're trying to rebrand their claim to be live kayo streaming service which isnt doing as well as they hoped. Streaming providers should always be separate to hardware. Really, murdoch just wants his foot in every1s mouth with this hubbl device - data collection helps him make more money.

I’m not bashing them for adjusting to the times, I’m bashing him for creating a product that isn’t needed in society.

  • Chromecast > than any other content aggregator that Murdoch puts out for a cash-grab (even if it's free!).

    Hard pass.

Useful for casting FTA Aussie rules across the house away from the aerial?

  • +3

The fact it didn’t even have profiles… so a households worth of incomplete series being watched are going to be thrown at you…

    • You MUST be kidding me.

  • Oh it's a Murdoch product. No wonder the logo colours are so familiar and disgusting

We use a Telstra TV 3 - actually a solid device as it is a rebadged Roku. Simple for the family to use and has all the apps we need.

Telstra is discontinuing support this month - yes it will still work but without updates the apps will likely die, making it useless.

Wondering how the hubbl compares - the Telstra replacement (free fetch) doesn't even have Binge or Kayo.

Need an all in one easy to use box with a decent remote.

    • How did you end up getting a free fetch in the end btw

      • It only recently showed up in my Telstra app.
I had tried everything last few months, chat, registering my old ttv3, creating a box office account and nothing worked. About 2 weeks ago it just showed up as a freebie. Completely random.

I sold mine for $40 lol

          • @Tee Rex Arms: So?
            As you keep telling us!
But Telstra & other 'free' Fetch boxes are locked & limited.
And not really free - included in price of service you pay for. Telstra is rarely cheap.

Unlocked Fetch sold new for $79 (full warranty, absolutely new in box but stated as 'refurbished' to explain low price)

@INFIDEL: Kudos to your ability to stalk through my posts. Not weird at all…

Plan is written off through tax so no dramas for me to go with them.

                Not weird at all…
No stalking necessary! Bought a cheap new Fetch in Deal a year ago, & subscribed to Fetch Deals.

Saw your "price I sold it for" comment there. And now here. Makes little sense in the Deals. It's irrelevant!

(Others bought the Fetch in Deals & quickly onsold it for much greater profit! But they don't say anything.)

What has the price someone paid for your Fetch got to do with the Deals you comment in??
(Last one was in Free Knowledge Pack - only if you have a Fetch Box… Which you say you sold. Now in a Hubbl Deal?)
Found that weird! Bragging over $40? Your reaction here tends to confirm my suspicions.

Others have warned in Fetch Deals, the 'free' boxes are limited & don't work with other Telcos services. Hope the buyer was aware of that!

  • It’s apparently a pretty bad product according to YouTube reviews.

  • Do they give you any incentive to use the box compared to just using the hubbl app?

I pay $6.99 for the basic netflix but on hubbl its 16.99 so whats the point?

  • We’ve had a Fetch Mighty box for many years and it’s been great for both FTA recording and streaming…highly recommended.

Any one else having this issue lately where their Hubbl Hub just bricks itself on a next reboot?.

I just had to return a Hubbl Hub today (purchased only 3 weeks ago) to JB because it completely died today. It wouldn't start up any more today but just gave a flashing white light error. They gave me a replacement today and literally on the second restart of the new Hubbl Hub it's completely bricked itself with the same flashing white light. There may be some thing seriously going on with these bricking itself. Taking it back tomorrow to try to get a refund. In my personal opinion it's a piece of crap. Seriously i'm never buying another Foxtel product again.
