    • The Promotional Period is from 17:00:00 on 19th April 2024 and ends at 23:59:59 on 31st May 2024.

  • My usecase is to use as home internet as i use often only 150gb per month. I have spare android phone to tether. I connect to max 4 devices.

Is there any restriction on usb tethering and how was normal speeds?

Also i prefer to connect desktop and laptop via ethernet so if connect the phone to router (i have telstra smart modem 2 ) and then connect to routher via ethernet cable, will it works?

    • that's very specific - my view is if your main device can use data and be used as a hotspot then go for it!!

  • What's with circles using the Meta AI logo?

    • HAHAHAH wow they do look similar!!! Circles have been using that logo for many years now so maybe someone tag Zuckerberg here? 😂

  • they still do credit check?

    • this question has been answered - yes

    • Any postpaid plan requires credit check.

Any time you "owe money", whether it's a utility bill, internet bill or phone bill - these all require credit checks

  • 5G and if so is the speed capped?

    • these questions have been answered - no and no!

      • I need Telstra for Apple Watch anyway. Wish it could be cheaper, but oh well.

        • I would say many people share that view !!

  • love how cheap the phone/data plans are these days!

Purchased but the email says the following:

(Bonus will be added from the second month onwards. Pro-rated first month is excluded)

Does this mean that the bonus data won't be available from when I activate the sim? So only 10gb in the first month for the $20 plan?

    • Hmm interesting. I'll be watching the response to you closely before I order mine.

    • +2

Also just to note that the data rollover only applies to the base data not the bonus data.

      • Yeah I've asked about that too. Kind of pointless because if the maximum amount you can accumulate is 500GB, even on the 30GB plan it will take you 1.5 years to build up 500GB.

      • Thanks for the heads up

If that's the case, the deal on their website directly is probably better..? It's $20/mth for 150GB (50GB more than this) for 6 months though (vs 12 months here) but it's 50GB base + 100GB data.

From a rollover point of view, and assuming you don't necessarily want the full 12 months, I think the public website deal is better.

    • g'day if you've activated the plan you should download the circles life app and check how much data is allocated. I've always seen bonus data come through the same time as it it activated

      • I spoke to a customer service rep on Live Chat and they advised that only the base data is available on activation/in the first month. Title and T&C's are misleading, should be 10GB/10GB/30GB in the first month and then 50GB/100GB/250GB for the following 11 months with rollover only on the base data.

        • Hey mate I checked today and had a new customer had the bonus data immediately. Did you download the circles app to check how much data you have?

          • @worbittonsdeals: I haven't received my sim yet. Can anyone else confirm this?

            • +1

@rollsroy: Yes. Bonus data starts from first month, discounted price starts from 2nd month. This also means the 12 months of bonus data ends the month before the discounted price ends.

              • @bitcoinorbust: So what is the price for the first month? Honestly, incredibly confusing T&Cs

              • @bitcoinorbust: Is your confirmation on the bonus data being applied from the 1st month based on your personal experience?

            • @rollsroy: So did you end up getting the bonus data applied from the 1st month?

  • How long does it take for the esim email, I've been waiting for an hour.

    • if you port your number it has to wait until the port is complete! It's Sunday so sometimes takes a little longer

      • But I can't start the port as I haven't returned an esim yet after I signed up 6 hours ago

  • If I purchase the plan, do I have to activate before 31 May 2024?

My current plan with amaysim doesn't expire until July.

    • -4

ENDS 31st May 2024 not clear enough for you?

    • hey @kq88 you can purchase the physical sim and activate it within 30 days and you will still receive this offer. Order it on May 30th to be sure and you can activate the sim within 30 days so it will give you till end of June to do it!

      • @worbittonsdeals Can I purchase the plan now and contact customer service to activate it in August 2024?

  • Any long expiry plans?

    • No they're a monthly service

  • Anyone receive their esims yet !

  • Cheap plans… but so is the service!
Just be mindful of possible extra call charges you may receive, data usage, and a heap of spam texts and calls.
I went down this rabbit hole once… never again!
    P.s. Read their reviews. 🤦‍♂️

    • Reviews are always bad though lol. No one leaves reviews unless…

      • incentivised to
      • their experience was bad, or worse
      • their experience was absolutely amazing

Everything in between the last 2 points (besides situations where reviewers are incentivised), yea people won't leave reviews. So it's kinda natural..

Note: I'm not refuting your overall experience or negative sentiment. Just responding to the point about reviews.

I agree, but the relative ratings between suppliers can still be an important signal

  • I'm already with Circles. Are these for new customers only? is there no way to get these deals if you're an existing customer?

    • You could just start a new number and get it.

Have to port out otherwise because it detects the number already in their system and you cant complete the sign up.

    • Start the live chat and ask. They usually give you something, which improves if you share competitor deals. (Usually end up with a promo code for 12 month bill deduction or extra data)

Why is there no mention that these people disabled MMS for any new customers as of October/November 2023?
This is a standard and basic service that most, if not all, would expect any Telco to be offering unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Also, why is this information not easily accessible in their FAQ but only by googling MMS and Circles.life once you realise you're unable to send them? Surely that in itself is a breach of consumer law…?

    • wow thanks for the heads up, no mms sounds ridiculous. any other telco resorted to this?

      • Didn't even know these guys were doing it until my partner switched and was unable to send or receive any.

  • Just got charged 32c for iPhone to send an international SMS to activate Facetime/iMessage. Normally most carriers will waive this charge but still, annoying.

  • Has anyone ordered any of these 3 plans and requested a physical SIM? If so, roughly how long did the SIM take to arrive?

  • I've tried twice (different sims, different occasions) to port over to circles and failed both times (I also tried multiple ID verification methods).

First time was just before the announcement of the Optus data breach so I thought maybe Optus were stopping it as some kind of misguided scattergun attempt to prevent identity theft. But it happened again the second time around.

Both times after multiple attempts I just gave up and stuck with Optus.

    • +1

I’ve been told porting from Optus to Optus has been known to be a problem even if you’re going from Optus to an Optus reseller like Amaysim, Coles, Catch Connect, Circles.life etc. You need to go from Optus to a Telstra or Vodafone carrier short plan first and then go to Circles.life.

      • I don't disagree, in fact I strongly suspect you are right. But damn that's annoying……..

        • +1

I had a 12 day outage going from Optus to Catch Connect back in 2021. I now almost always use a Boost 28 day SIM when switching from Amaysim to Catch Connect (both on Optus).

          • +1

@D1977: I think its improved these days. I ported from Amaysim to Circles a few weeks back and it took less than an hour.

  • Can I buy now but activate on 31 July?
