Anyone Tried The New Woolworths Dine in Range and Found Any Winners or Losers?

Woolworths helps customers Dine In with new restaurant-style meals

WW rolls out new range, anyone given these a try?

Not available in my area at the time of writing but the Chipotle one looks interesting. The pasta bake looks good too.

Anyone found any winners or losers

They seem to be priced ok not dirt cheap but around the budget range compared to other convenience meals.

Might want to pay attention to this statistic if you have a food business

"The new Dine In offering comes as Australians swap dining out for dining in, with Woolworths customer research showing that 40 percent of customers are cutting back on eating out, or not eating out at all, to help save money."

I really don't know why so many restaurants stopped their takeout or reheat at home offerings from the covid times.

So… where in Woolworths do you sit down and eat?

Staff tea room since I have to scan and bag my own products

    • Admission is free, you can pay at the door,
There are plenty of seats, you can sit on the floor.

      • WW Rundle Mall used to have a Cafeteria. LG Floor.
        (I feel old).

You feel old? Last time I was in Rundall mall, there was a roller coaster around the top, I went to Brashers and bought the new Metallica album at the time… I think it was the one with “enter sandman…”

Anyone found any winners or losers

    From linked page:

The most popular products so far include:
    Mexican chicken with vegetables 1.6kg
Chicken parmigiana with mash and vegetables 1.6kg
    Spanish paella 1.2kg

    • I wonder how Woolworths knows this during the press release announcing the release of these products. I'm guessing their taste testers?

Kinda surprised that it's regional areas getting the most love, I would have thought a vacuum packed product that's not frozen would involve a fair bit of logistics. I wonder if it's frozen then thawed in store for sale.

Anyway, I'll be trying it. While it's not really any cheaper than a roast chook and some pre-cut veggies thrown in the oven, it does seem a really convenient thing where I can keep WFH but throw this in the oven without needing to leave the house.

The initial trial which launched last month has already proven popular, with more than 90,000 products sold so far.

        • well, I'm great at reading things properly. That seems a lot of sales in a month long trial!

  • i i bought the Chipotle Chicken Family Meal on special for $15. It was not bad had good flavour. Its basically just chicken and sauce there was no sides with it. I made it into a sandwich.
The plastic seal was difficult to get off.

also tried Beef Lasagne Tortellini on special at $9. It was ok not much better then other options available but if you add a good sauce to it then its reasonable for 2 hungry people

the Chicken Parmigiana With Mash & Veg Family Meal 1.6kg only has 32% chicken its $25 for what looks like 2 shnitzels not sure how they call that a family meal.
Still in a restraunt you would pay $27 for 1 portion this looks like 2 portions so still could be worth it

These pre packaged meals are always a disappointment. Would only buy them when they mark them down 90% the day before expiry, and I am sure there will be plenty of them.

      Tell me about it
Always lacking flavour I mean come on a little crack black pepper wouldn't go astray and put some flavour other than flour in the gravy's and don't get me started on any lasagna or sauce flavoured pasta utter garbage and whats with coloured rice with no flavour other than bland rice
