Linked is the Phantom (Blue) Large variant, comes with 50$ store credit bonus; Guardian (Gold) Large variant here, comes with a free mousepad; Guardian Medium sku here no freebies likely due to medium being most popular shape. Other colourway + size options are already sold out.

Yes, it's 299$ for a mouse, yes, it's still a deal. It's 189 USD + 14.95 USD shipping from the official FM site, and you have to wait for drops, get in on the drop, and wait a long time for it to ship. You can grab this and resell for the same amount or more even if you don't like it, no shortage of folks on eBay/StockX wanting to coup one.

Anyways, an ultra lightweight, top specced enthusiast grade mouse. Get in quick…or not. Usual QC issue warnings apply, personally, I got in on the first batch and have no problem, ymmv.

It's the same price point as the flagship gaming model from one of the most trusted manufacturers around, Logitech G PRO X Superlight 2. Just get that.

    • +1

I have the ULX and a modified GPX. The ULX weight difference is veeery noticable and it's kinda hard going back to the GPX.
The fact that it's the same price I would say get the ULX any day of the week.

It has 4k polling but I think 2k is the sweet spot cos it sends click signals between the standard polling rate.
      Has motion sync.
      Battery indicator on dongle.
      Web interface for settings

      TLDR
ULX>GPX2 but shape is the most important factor.

      • +2

Second the shape importance, very difficult finding the perfect shape for you because retailers like JB don't have open box demos.
I've settled on having different mouses for gaming and productivity.

Moving on, it's worth checking out the Chinese brands these days, the value from the East is amazing and the quality is also quite amazing. I'm trialing a vxe dragonfly r1 pro max at the moment, could have bought almost 4 for the price of this finalmouse ulx. You decide if it's still worth paying ridiculous prices to established brands.

        • The dragonfly range is very good for the price.. The F1 pro Max is a cheaper version of the gpx but much better value. Similar shape and features.

I personally think if the shape isn't bad you can adapt to it.

        • I'm no expert but i'm pretty happy with my wlmouse mini. I have the regular as well and haven't used it since I got the mini.

    • +1

      1, very different shape.
      2, way heaiver (38 vs 58)

Howeverm, superlight is famous for its long lasting battery due to it only use 1khz? (not sure with the new ones since logitech has lost his sauce vs all this new gaming mouse companys).

better support, since big brand and more easily to deal with RMA locally.

      • +1

I've had to RMA a finalmouse from mwave before. Took a while but they managed it for me, unfortunately cos it was limited run they just refunded me.
Don't be hesitant cos of possible warranty process.

Gpx 2 can do 2k polling now.

        • +3

I believe they recently added 4K with an update

          • +1

@iPodVideo: Yes 4kHz is now available via automatic update.

    • +2

gpx2 is like $200 on amazon, I really hope you're not paying Logitech RRP
also the new viper v3 pro is basically a better gpx2

enjoyed my lion, but my beast mini just blows it out of the water. the build is way more solid, super crisp click.
The "carbon fiber" is just such a gimmick thing, it might be a worse than plastic attempt tbh….. the m1 m2 side flex is just too much after seeing what wlmouse can do with those price and the availability is a none-issue….

FM did create something very unique here, but the attempt towards new material in the case feels way more like a marketing than actual performance upgrade. I think magnesium mouse is still the goat material so far. not calling it bad, its just there are more options out there if you are not fan boy that one brand.

  • +1

I think Finalmouse may be doing something wrong if all the coverage I can find of the mouse has the word "quality control" within it.

  • +1

wlmouse Beast X series is a much better bet for mine. Had my mini a couple of months now and couldn't be happier. Build quality is flawless on my unit and the clicks are so nice. Also many different colour options to choose from. Oh and the weight of the mouse is actually as advertised.

    • I have barely touched my regular beast x since I got the mini. I never thought it would make a difference but the regular feels massive when I've tried to go back to it (when mini was charging).

  • Been researching a replacement for my Logitech GPX and after looking through tonnes of YouTube videos and came back to Logitech Superlight 2.
Logitech shape has been comfortable for me.
Logitech RMA is usually a straight swap on the spot.
Second contender would have been a WLmouse Beast X Max.
Love the idea of trying a magnesium mouse and love the look of the thing but at $250 with 1 year warranty from Ausmodshop, I’ll probably buy one as a FPS only mouse rather than daily.
Third Ninjutso Sora V2. Highly recommended by lots of mouse enthusiasts online. Should be good but 8k wireless dongle must be purchased separately for 8k polling rate. Dongle is not out for sale yet either.
Forth Finalmouse Ultralight X. Good thing is Mwave is local and they are selling this. Bad is I guess a much smaller company making it and you can see they are improving their quality through each model.

    • seems like you havent found your personal shape yet, the GPX and beast mouse are very different shaped. the GPX is actually really high back humped

      • it's more centre humped wdym

    • Bad is I guess a much smaller company making it and you can see they are improving their quality through each model.

Everyone's glazing wlmouse pretty hard in this thread but wlmouse is doing the same exact thing. The og Beast X is currently a discontinued and abandoned product because their firmware solution was sub-optimal and they couldn't get their firmware provider to push out updates.

It's just how it is in the mouse industry imo, when you buy early batch of any mouse you should know that it will be updated in its product lifecycle. Finalmouse is at least more transparent about it.

Rambling aside I suggest you have a look at the new Viper V3 Pro. Its shape is reminiscent of the GPX and a lot of GPX users (including Valorant/CS pros) are moving over to it. Added benefit is Razer warranty which you seem to care about.

  • Probably not a huge deal for people hardcore about this mouse but i'd suspect it uses WebUSB, and thus is not supported by Firefox.
It's a dubious standard forced through by Google with little to no regard for security, works in Chromium based browsers only.
    Some reading here… https://github.com/mozilla/standards-positions/pull/193

    • +1

      Nah, it uses WebHID.

Which is also not supported on Firefox.

And Finalmouse are so stupid that the download links for the offline version are within the tool?!

      Galaxy brain.
