scootbiz or stretch

Hi all

Has anyone flown scoot and tried both the scootbiz and the stretch yellow seating?

Trying to decide if it's with the extra $200-$300

Thanks in advance

  • Don't bother. Horrible food. Get the cheapest :)

    Get Flybag!

  • Agree, food is dire. Worst food I have ever had in a plane. I've had better in hospital.

  • Just flew home on them this morning in Scootbiz. The difference in price when I booked was only around $110 (one way) more than Flybag. Considering I am 187cm and highly inflexible I felt it was a good deal.

I had the soy chicken and felt that it was comparable to the meals served on Singapore Airlines (I have had 4 flights with them this year) in economy. One of the cabin crew mentioned that they have recently changed caterers in Singapore so things may have improved. If it's really a big concern just bring your own food to meet your specific dietary/allergy needs (wink wink).

If you are planning on doing the Sydney-Singapore-KL-Seoul option with scoot and Air Asia consider changing to Sydney-Gold Coast-KL-Seoul with Air Asia. They have an upgrade option for only $140 per person (price for Gold Coast - KL) to their business class and it is a lot better as you get a lie-flat bed. Scootbiz is actually the same as what Virgin Australia sell on long haul international flights as Premium Economy (exactly the same seats) but with less service (eg. better meals, drinks, loyalty points, etc.)

    • I tried to see the upgrade from promo/regular to the business class, but it doesnt seem to be $140 more. more like double or triple the amount (for the GC -KL route). What period were you referring to?

      • You can't do it until after you have booked. It's done through www.optiontown.com (they will email you a link after booking anyway). It's not guaranteed but I have 3 out of 3 success so far.

  • +1

I flew on the Scoot yellow stretch class back in August. I was quite happy with it, managed to get a good sleep. It didn't seem all that popular. Maybe a third full as I had three seats to myself. While the cheaper economy and business seats seemed quite packed.

For an overnight flight I would be more than happy with stretch. While for a daytime flight I could easily make do with the normal economy.

    • thanks. stretch seats have the great feature of leg room if you are tall, but no lateral movement because of the solid and fixed armrests with built in tray etc.
