How Much Would You Pay for This Used Gaming PC

My mate is trying to sell his Gaming PC and has offered it to me for $1800. Don't know if that's a fair price and I don't want the PC anyway.

How much could he get if he tried to sell it on FB Marketplace/Gumtree? He bought all the components in September-October 2022

Gonna get lowballed anyway, so start at minimum he would part with it, and add on say 20%.

  • $420.69

On a more serious note - the 3080 TI is likely worth $1k by itself, but the rest of the system isn't worth $800 IMO. More like $450-500ish second hand?

    • Yeah nice

My last reference like this was pulled by the mods so I've had to restrain myself lately. It's been tough.

Some snowflake with no sense of humor was offended.

The thing is, if you have $1800 to pay for the computer, you could add a bit more and get a new system.

Second-hand computers are just not worth it unless you have an offer you cannot refuse. Whilst it doesn't look like your friend's cheaped out on any parts, everything except for GPU is very lower-mid to mid-range.

  • About $800 used for the 3080 Ti, and the rest of the system about $550 at best.

For $1888 you could've got a brand new 4070ti super build from techfast
Bit less ram but you get the idea of value

    • Well I actually want to either build or buy a Mini ITX PC (<20L case) in the next 12 months - RTX 4070 is probably all I need

    • Also, current gen specs…,

I build my 5600x PC at the same time, brandnew prices were $600 for CPU+MB+RAM and few more for 100s for Case, cooler, PSU etc.
So the most valuable part is 3080 Ti (may be $700, see sold items : https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=3080+Ti&_s… ) and rest would be like $500 altogether now

better to build a new Intel based PC

  • what motherboard?

    • MSI B550M Pro VDH Wifi

      • C Tier on the AM4 VRM list, but still ok for the 65W 5700X
