  • $507.96 with dock and AU shipping.
The best (some) Good Guys stores are doing this for is $515 with dock if you want an AU unit. Just bought one a few weeks ago.

    • Price match with OW. Win.

      • OW price matches only local retailers.

  • It is $498 (with dock) with free shipping for AU stock here http://flingshot.com.au/products/computers-tablets-asus-pad-…. I haven't bought from them so cannot comment on them.
Also, would like to know what others think about this http://flingshot.com.au/products/asus-transformer-prime-tf20…, the price is tempting

    • the tf201 is plague with gps issues apparently. go google it.

      • hm tempting. seems like a good price to check it out anyway, you could always return it if wifi issue is severe enough i guess?

    • Just dropped the price to $488.

Resolution is not very good for reading text. For me, Nexus 10 or iPad is better.

I wouldn't say its not good for reading, just that on nex10 and iPad it would be better.

Also, who would read on a widescreen device anyway. A 10" device to boot too. If you want a tab for reading, you're doing it wrong. Get a ereader.

      • unless it's for pdfs and textbooks. otherwise, 7in is much better to hold

      • For some people it's OK, but for many others like me, 1280 x 800 just doesn't cut it.

Why wouldn't you read on a widescreen? Your monitor is probably widescreen. Don't tell me what I want to do on a tab. If you're browsing a website on a tab, guess what? you're reading.

Dude if you can read on 1280 x 800 (@ 10.1) then you cant read on 99% of computers.

Seems a waste if you have to get a retina mac or Ultra-HD gaming display just to read text…lol :p

        • +2

The difference is that your eyes are further away from the screen on a laptop or desktop so you don't need as high PPI.

It's not a waste at all since one of the main selling points of the retina iPads is the improved text reading. That's the area where the higher resolution's improvement is most obvious.

If you're happy with a 1280 x 800 screen, then fantastic, I'm happy that you don't need to spend $100-200 for the latest screen. All I'm trying to do is warn people who don't have experience with a tablet that you may want to see a tablet in person and see if you can live with the screen.

    Does the shipping has insurance?
Does anyone know How much will the same model without dock cost in office works?
