Limited time deal. 0% claimed at time of post. I've not seen them drop below $90 anywhere in the last year or so and currently are $100-132 in all the usual camera shops.

Newer Sony bodies like the A7CII and A6700 have had AF problems (constant hunting) with Samyang/Rokinon lenses unless you upgrade the latter's firmware, making this crucial rather than eh-lens-works-fine-without-it if you plan on sticking with Sony long term ie upgrading your current Sony one day.

Specifies it's for Sony's E lenses rather than FE but Samyang's own US site and Korean site don't show a separate FE version, so I assume it must work on both.

  • Is this only compatible with Samyang lenses?
"Only compatible with Sony E AF lenses from Samyang"

Yes. Also compatible with Rokinon but they're the same. For Sigma lenses, you will need their dock. Same for certain Canon compatible lenses. Others have a USB-C slot (some Tamron) or are through the camera body.

So Samyang's lenses are not of merchandisable quality. Samyang should be required to service their lenses or to provide the lens station for free.
