  • What does TV functions mean? Specs look pretty typical for the cost to me.

    • Wouldnt worry about the TV function. Its analog not digital and would be mediocre reception.

      • i doubt that if it were digital that it would work in AUS as alot of the asian countries like Korea, japan and taiwan use different digital tv bands

    This is a MTK6515.. I would prefer a newer model like MTK6577..

This is probably the best site to grab yum cha phones!

    http://www.androidforcheap.com/

but these yum cha phones is a bit of hit and miss, best to check out the side by side comparison videos on youtube copy (yumcha) vs real phones. The chinese are slowly improving over the years, seems like they are building better copies. Even some ROM development forums are customising ROMs for these yum cha phones..

  • Another no brand Android phone.

Should have called it KungFu Ka!!!!

          cost about $350.

Then have it do KungFu karate ringtone on stock.

          Kah… Wah… kah..

          Will set out like cupcakes.

        • Man! It needs a bad ass Bruce Lee sticker on the back! Enter the dragon I say!! Ka!

        • wow! interesting…

I saw a swirly dog poo on the footpath this morning that could also be described this way.

did you test its touch capabilities?

        • The first Smellofone?

        • No, just taste and texture.

        • No, tell me you didn't do that! :O

        • But can you watch TV on it?

    • No brand, no 3G either.

need more details such as frequencies CPU RAM etc.- sarcasm - just the "non important" stuff… /sarcasm…

very average phone at best - is it even 3g? dont think so!
    some other stats:

    Band: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz
    OS: Android 4.0
    CPU: MTK6515, 1.0GHz
    ROM: 256MB
    RAM: 256MB
    Display Size: 3.5 Inch
    Type: TFT, capacitive touch screen
    Resolution: 480 x 320 pixels
    Dual Cameras, front camera: 2.0MP,
    back camera: 2.0MP with flashlight
TV: Yes, analogue TV with antenna
    Multi-Touch: Yes, 2 point touch

with that amount of RAM, 2 touch only (and no 3g?) no way this is a bargain.

    • It's quite strange I don't think I've seen a 6515 but I've seen the 6516 which is essentially all the same specs except its 416 MHz… So it's possible Mediatek released a refresh of their old chipset or its false… http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/G20-android-2-3-MTK-… Doesn't really help haha, says its a 6575 then a 6515… Also mediatek isn't even advertising a 6515 Processor in its MT processor portfolio - http://www.mediatek.com/en/Products/product_list2.php?sn=1

    • Lost me at 256MB RAM. That'll make Android 4.0 far slower than the CPU might indicate. Would be better off with Gingerbread (or better still, at least 512MB of RAM).

  • well we tried selling Chinese brands but too much to worry about

    • limited or no after sales support
    • chinese apps and bloatware
    • reliability issues

Considering you can get the defy+ for $99 (and there is a guide in the forums to unlock it) not the best deal.

  • For something like a phone which is critical for daily use, too much of a gamble to go with a noname.

For anyone thats interested theres a technology blog dedicated to YumCha phones!

    http://www.gizmochina.com

    Makes for interesting reading.

  • If it was digital TV this would be neat, and be purchased for a cheap GPS for my motorbike; since i could disconnect it and watch some TV when I camp.

with analogue TV, and shiz specifications, there is no way this is a bargain. You can get an IDEOS for that.

  • No Name phones NO gurantee big risk even if its cheap
