  • flingshot beaten?

    • easily, the rep was very lax about adjusting his price when someone found it cheaper
i think theres clearly some distributor discounts going on and he just priced it as the lowest retailer but not neccessarily the best price possible.

      price war! gogogo!

      • Very lax is a bit of a stretch, we dropped our price within 5 minutes when someone posted a lower price…

        • as opposed to uptight and umming and ahing about whether to drop or not. The speed at which you dropped indicates this can be had for even cheaper!

        • Why would we umm and ahh? We posted a deal on OZB if we are not the cheapest, what is the point!

We do price analysis before we post every deal, but we sometimes miss a store that has it cheaper, in this case it was only cheaper for people in Melbourne but we dropped the price on principle. It wasn't like we dropped the price by $50 it was like $15. As we said in the iPad case deal, we are willing to lose money to get the business, that principle applies equally here.

        • Hard to imagine any rep "umming and ahhing" would win much business - or support - on the ozbargain community.

  • Great pricing! I'm a happy past Shopping Express customer..

    • Extremely glad to see return happy customer :) It's time to upgrade your network with this good deal and play more efficient, work more efficient. Also chance to win our lucky draw to win a TV

      • $195-$285 more efficient?

You must be talking about wireless transfer speeds. If that's so important, use gigabit and run some cable :)

  • Kind of hoping flingShot rep will come here for a price war like what he did for the Logitech iPad keyboard with LTS.

    • Oh you know we will.

      • +2

        Game ON!
I'd like Flingshot to come out cheaper because they were the first ones to post, whereas SE are just playing 'catch up'

      • Care to give me some store credit voucher since I can read your mind? LOL.

        • If you had said "I know Flingshot will come here" then maybe we could talk ;)

  • If I have an existing Modem Router (netgear dgnd3700), can I just buy the router and hook it up to my existing Netgear dgnd3700 and take advantage of the improved speed?

Also, if all I have now is N devices, will I get any improvements from this device? (e.g. speed, coverage?)

    • no u need AC compatible device to take advantage of it

    • Yes and NO.
Probably best to buy a good modem and separate router.
