Have they fixed the cheating yet?

Interesting, sale right after the recent controversy .

Don't fall for it, these guys are clowns

      • +4

Already have the game, stopped playing after unheard of edition

  • +10

Cheaters are about as bad as they've ever been, and the devs (or at least management) are more openly hostile towards the playerbase than any other game I've played.
Nearly 2k hours and no way I'd recommend someone give BSG your money for this or any other game.

Please include GST in total price.

    • Actually last time I went to buy it was via a UK gateway because they region lock it or somthing and they were adding VAT. Put me right off (as that’s 20%). Not sure if they have changed though.

  • +1

if anyone still supports Tarkov then LOL

  • +2

overun with cheaters, dodgy and shitty company

  • If you want Tarkov this is a good deal.
Also a good time for cheaters to stock up on alt accounts.

The game looks so good and I've wanted it for so long, but get put off by:
      1. The price
      2. The community like @Alteya above who have a heap of hours but don't recommend it
      3. Stories about the devs
      4. All the cheating reports

There isn't anything else like this game, is there?

I have a love hate relationship with this game. I feel like most people who play it do. When things go right it's great when they go bad it's the worst.

The main issue I have with the game is the load times, they are so long. Going into a level then going back to the main menu after the raid. Takes about 10-15 minutes each time you load a level. Then you have the time to set up your character. After you do all this you can die in the first 2 minutes, no replays or anything to confirm it was a cheater, then you have to do it all again.

        The price is pretty insane
I don't know about most of the devs but the BSG CEO sure does rub the community the wrong way.
I've had good experiences in the game with friendly people who help each other out. Especially as a Scav, since the Karma system has been out a while now.

The randomness feels fun at the start but after a while when you need a specific item and you've done 30 raids looking for it, and you still can't find it. It really makes you want to quit.

If you have friends who play it and are willing to help you out, and you have time to spend, it's not too bad (hard to recommend with all the lies and broken promises from the BSG CEO). If you are going to play it solo I would say don't bother yet.

Also at this point in the wipe, it's pretty rough to start, lots of high tier gear getting around.

I've played a few games that have bits and pieces of Tarkov but not the full thing. Hunt showdown is fun for the PvPvE side.

From someone with over 6k hours in tarkov, I can't recommend to anyone.
Cheating is worse than ever before. Devs don't give a crap about the community and with all the P2W crap coming future looks worse than ever(coming from someone with EOD)
There isn't any other game like it unfortunately COD DMZ was fun while it lasted, got 5/600 hrs in it, Cycle Frontier I thought was great in some ways but died to cheaters.
The constant grind of tarkov can get frustrating especially when you have done the same quests over and over for multiple wipes (have got Kappa 4 times now)
The community can be great at times and random events draw people back in but the cheaters are terrible currently. I gave up last wipe at lvl42 from cheaters and have given up this wipe at 46 with 2 quests for kappa.
After all the recent drama there has been a noticeable drop in the amount of players plus Gray zone release and now arena breakout also.
If you have friends who play it might be worth it but if you are going to play solo don't waste your money. For all it teething problems Grayzone has been fun and has alot of tarkov aspects in it.
I would sooner recommend it as it has a much lower price tag to get into, though would wait a month or 2 and see how it gets on. Have high hopes for Grayzone :)

      • Both Gray Zone Warfare and Incursion Red River have some similarities to Tarkov. Opinions seem to be that they its still early for both, but good enough to try.

        • /edit: forgot to mention Arena:Breakout, the PC version looks good.

    • If you want Tarkov, just played the modded SPT version offline. The devs are crooks.

I love the game, but it pains me to watch those in charge piss away all the goodwill they’ve built up over the years. It’s almost like we need a DCFS for businesses. 😂

There’s nothing out there like this game yet. Many have tried, none have nailed it yet. I’d still recommend purchasing the standard edition at this price though. You can always play single player with SPTarkov and use all kind of mods.

  • +1

Good price if you want the game, just don't bother playing online (cheaters etc). Instead, you can install the Single Player Tarkov mod to customise the game to your liking.

    • +1

I only installed SPT last week when Nikita went into damage control, and it's just amazing how good the game could be. Like installing a mod that includes all the ammo information in the game so I don't need a second monitor with 4 different websites up to find useful information… Map markers too, just to give you a vague sense of direction when you have an objective in-raid… Like they could maybe enable these only in the <L20 raids for newbies to help people get into the game, and turn them off as you get to higher levels, but as is, the game is almost impossible to get into unless you have someone holding your hand the first couple of hours.

      • Exactly. A prime reminder of just how fantastic games can be when modding, or improving pre-existing game mechanics, is openly encouraged by the game's developer. It openly accelerates product improvement. Source engine and Minecraft are two leading examples of this. There are many others. It's a shame the Tarkov developers are too conservative to understand this.

If you haven't watched The Wiggle That Killed Tarkov https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5LfGcDB7Ek - I highly recommend it. Just check out the first 5 minutes

  • we —> do not <— pre order

  • Don't recommend. Devs encourage cheaters to rebuy game so they make money, the unheard distress signal thats coming will allow more cheaters to auction raids for money.
