Looking to Buy Staria - Servicing Costs and Any Common Issues?

Hey there - I'm looking to buy a Hyundai Staria 2021 model, the Highlander, with all the bells and whistles including 4WD mode.

I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this vehicle as an owner, or even as a mechanic? Curious to know if the standard services are expensive, and if there are any major services or potential issues that may cost a small fortune?

We have had a VW Multivan in the past and the services were pretty expensive (over $1k per standard service) which might be because it's European, but it's also the first van we've had so wasn't sure if it was normal for this style of vehicle.

  • We have the diesel Highlander, no issue so far. Done nearly 52k km so far, bought it brand new in June 2022. Servicing is capped, about $360-380 for a standard service at the dealership.

The only car I know of that comes with all the bells and whistles is the AMG A200…

      Or

      “Bells make whistles. Thanks.”

      • You forgot expense !

    Any Common Issues?

    Yes, it's ugly.

  • If you are going with a used car, why not consider Toyota Alphard/Vellfire. Much nicer in every aspect.
