Ozito PXC 18V Cordless Reciprocating Saw $49.98 & More + Delivery ($0 C&C/In-Store/OnePass) @ Bunnings

290

My recip just died on me and was surprised to see it's back to the old price at Bunnings, looks like some other Ozito PXC tools have been reduced to match Aldi's upcoming Ferrex sale. Will be curious to see if they match the 36v brushless chainsaw too.

Note: the Ozito Reciprocating Saw & Multi Function Tool that has been matched in this deal are NOT brushless (ALDI equivalent are Brushless).

Ozito Brushless Multi Function Tool & Reciprocating Saw are still full price.

The Ozito PXC Brushless Reciprocating Saw & Multi Function Tool has been matched

    • Thanks RichardL

    • Does any one know if they match the brushless (or price beat) if you call them out that the Aldi ones are brushless?

      • +2

no chance. Product dont even match…

        • Cheers. What do you mean the product doesn't match? The only difference I can see with the recip is that Ferrex has a pendulum setting.

          • @ohgee: I mean as in Aldi is not selling Ozito product.

            • @kekw: Gotcha. I might give it a go, worst they'll say is no. I've matched other brands for an Ozito price beat before, showed them the other stores website and that it was in stock and got it for 10% less without question.

              • +1

@ohgee: yeah let us know how you go!

          • +1

@ohgee: You can't price match completely different products. Is this your first day here?

            • -1

@Hinee: There's a difference between same product and same brand.

              • @ohgee: So can price match a Bosch Blue to an Ozito?

    • +1

Meh. How many people here have ever had to replace a pair or brushes? Or know what the difference is?
It does matter if you are a tradie using them all day, but then you probably would not buy Ozito.

Benefits of Brushless Motor from the Ozito Page:

        • Higher RPM
        • Longer Battery Run Time
        • Less Heat Generated
        • More Durability
        • Extended Motor Life
        • More Compact
        • Lighter weight
        • Quieter operation

Most people won't be able to tell the difference unless they have used a Brushless Tool before or have a side-by-side comparison.

        • These factors are all relevant to the engineer designing the tool, and apply "all other things being equal".
It would be foolish to assume these apply to the finished tool, or matter to the DIY consumer.

The real question is how much extra it is worth paying - $10? $100?
People are easily impressed by technical specs they don't understand.

          • +3

@bargaino: Of course cost benefot is a factor but the longer battery life and extra power in the same body is worth paying a bit extra for.
I would no longer buy a battery lawn mower that is not brushless. Big difference.

      • +1

Why would you pick brushed when they are the same or similar price? Brushless is better in every way not just lifespan.

        • Pointless question. You wouldn't, but in reality the brushed might be double the price, so you need to quantify the benefit, which might be huge, or insignificant.

PM reluctance motors are even better in specs, but not worth the cost.

        • With this current deal, the brushed reciprocating saw is $49.98 and the brushless is $169. Can you justify the extra $120 if you only use the tool once in a while for a few minutes at a time?

      • The brushed Ozito is pretty gutless. It's ok but it stalls pretty easily from the 30min i used it. I havent tried their brushless but if its anything like their drills the brushless is noticeably better than they cheap brushed ones

Either way. Its worth noting the difference, some people have both systems already and could go with either. In that case certainly get the Aldi.

Your links are now reporting each as $44!

Will be curious to see if they match the 36v brushless chainsaw too.

    Already matched

    • Cheers, will add it to the post. It was still 199 when i was composing my post

      • In fact it still shows as in 199 search results until I click into the actual item page.

Oh man, I never thought I'd need a chainsaw but absolutely launched myself at this deal for the 250mm for $67 and it's been ridiculously handy, albeit somewhat gutless. Was out camping last long weekend and managed to fell enough hardwood for a great fire for 3 nights. This one should be significantly better. Decisions…

      • +1

What a deal this was, came with battery and charger too!

        • Yeah it was an absolute ripper - my 2ah batteries never get any use anymore. My charger has recently packed it in tho :(

      • Our 250mm died after 2 years and they were happy to use it as a credit for the 36V brushless.

Chalk and cheese - the 36V is seriously good, a mate with a small Stihl 2 stroke and I chopped up a tree over around 2 hours - I exhausted 4 batteries, multiple chain sharpenings for both, bar oil added - and that Ozito just kept sawing. Seriously good kit.

    • Aeg is selling brushless chainsaw with battery and bonus battery for $200 at expo, i don't know why i would buy this unless just because you have batteries

  • +3

This one is very useful for pruning branches, and stump removal. I have took off matured hedge tree (3m) one with this. Just need the right blade to do the job.

  • +1

I have this one (apparently I am a pxc fanboi) and it goes ok. Cut up a fallen tree with trunk about 15cm diameter, but had to push it.
Gets warm if you work it hard, though I was cycling through multiple 3ah batteries not giving it a good rest.
Also useful for cutting through roots in the soil. The blades wear out quicker but made digging a trench much easier than trying to chop through roots with a mattock.

I’d like to see them match the 8ah battery tbh.

    • Same, they didn't match last time so I expected nothing different this time.

      • They reduced the chainsaw by $50. The battery isn’t far off that.
$179 is crazy price for it, but at $99 I’d get a few.

  • Would recommend this saw, I've cut many branches and yuccas with this.

    • ha! i just cut some yucca branches as well with this over the weekend!

  • Can use this to cut through pretty much anything if you're patient. I cut a 200mm thick limestone block with it

  • Ozito PXC 18V Cordless Multi Function Tool PXMFTS-018 - $49.98 (was $64)

Will this work with standard iron (shape) sander pads?

  • Thanks. Now waiting for Ozito pruner.

  • Wait for price reductions on Aldi stuff that doesn’t sell well

  • +1

I actually went into Bunnings yesterday to grab one of these but got cold feet. The $14 saving didn't seem worth it on such an impulsive purchase.
