  • Does anyone know if you can cancel and start a new student account with a new email, but using the same student email to verify you're still a student?

      Those were the days

    • Wonder if they renew at that price?

      • I’ll find out in July

        • +4

          No they Don't, :(

We hope you are enjoying Creative Cloud All Apps (100Gb) [Student and Teacher Edition]. We want to share an important update about your subscription price. You purchased your subscription using Lebanon as your purchase country. However, your subscription has been used predominantly in Australia. In order for you to continue to use your subscription, you will have to subscribe at the current price for Australia.

To avoid disruption to your work, we will migrate you to a new subscription within the next 30 days reflecting Australia as your country of usage, and the applicable subscription price of your plan. The new subscription terms will be the same as the terms under which you signed up, other than price. The price of Creative Cloud All Apps (100Gb) [Student and Teacher Edition] will change from LBP 356400 /annually to AUD 259.90 plus 10.0% tax /annually. For your annual, prepaid plan, as your plan is migrated to Australia, you will receive a pro rata refund for the original annual, prepaid plan in Lebanon.

        • Didn't you receive an e-mail from Adobe about due to some regulation restriction, Adobe had to move us to "AU" region. Once the subscription runs out, should we elect to keep it, we will be charged at AU monthly rate.

Suggest you check your e-mail if you haven't cancelled your subscription (still get to use it till the current subscription runs out, at least for now).

          • @netsurfer: I have never got that, my renewal price is still the same.

            • @ldd-mn: Same

            • @ldd-mn: That's good. Hopefully, it will renew at that price for you for at least another year.

            • @ldd-mn: What's that? Like $10 for the year?

              • @tavers: Yeah $10.48 for the year

                • @ldd-mn: hah nice. I checked mine and it's $16ish. That's a win.

            • @ldd-mn: mine shows that too

              LL 623,760/yr
Next payment on Jun 22, 2024
              Annual plan, prepaid

          • @netsurfer: Just got this:

"We hope you are enjoying Creative Cloud. We want to share an important update about your subscription price.

The price of Creative Cloud All Apps for students and teachers is changing to US $419.88/year (including applicable Tax/VAT), which will take effect on your next renewal date. This price continues to reflect an over 35% discount on the Creative Cloud All Apps plan."

I assume this means it's over for me too?

            • @ldd-mn: Same, another subs go downhill

            • @ldd-mn: the wording seems a bit off on that email. a bit sus. did it come from '[email protected]'? that's what all my adobe emails come from

              • +1

@dannydo: If you login to adobe cloud, it will show next renewal at $419 us. Before was LL

                • @snvl: See that's the weird part, I got that email, but in my account it still says LL 623,760/yr.

                  • @ldd-mn: I got the same email and it shows the same renewal of LL 623,760 in my account. But I didn't want to risk being charged ~ $630 aud. So I just cancelled it.

                    • @Name: Yeah, I just cancelled mine too.

                  • @ldd-mn: Came in to say "me too" as well, going to cancel now for risk of the huge bill!

                  • @ldd-mn: Same i got that email but my account still says in 623,760LL. are you letting adobe renew?

            • @ldd-mn: Yep I got this today, I assume they will only update the price just before or on renewal, not worth the risk.

        • yeah got that too

          https://imgur.com/a/LraqC2z

are people holding? if its one month thats fine to take that risk but a whole year!

        • I just received an email from Adobe, it says:

The price of Creative Cloud All Apps + Adobe Stock is increasing, changing from US $87.98/month to US $87.98/month (inclusive of applicable taxes/VAT/GST) on your next renewal date.

It says it is changing from $87.98 to $87.98 (which is the same amount)…. In my account, it is still showing the LL price.

I wonder what would happen during the next renewal.

      • +1

I recently renewed again at $43.99. I started at that price and cancel each year which offers a live chat. I tell them I want to continue at the same price and they honour it.

        • Fantastic. I’ll do that.

        • Wonder if they will honour the $10

        • Is it $43.99 per month or yearly?

  • +3

A$633.24 per year is ludicrous and most definitely not a bargain.

    • +2

      Awesome, where cheaper?

    • +3

Remember when it used to be cheaper to fly return to the US to buy a copy of Creative Suite? They even had a Senate hearing about it.

I guess this is a bargain in comparison.

      • Yeah we finally pay basically what the rest of the world pays. For Australians this pricing model is a good thing. The old way of doing things really shafted us.

For arguably the best software of this kind in the world, the whole suite of it? And even if you don't think it's the best, there's no denying it's the industry standard.

    • +3

Exactly. If you use Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator only. Affinity’s three products do the job for the professional market with the three apps, for what you pay Adobe for 1 month, and you get Mac, PC and iPad versions that do not require a subscription.

I love Affinity’s products and use everyday.

      • Absolutely agree.

Or free options for non professionals.
        Canva
        Inkscape
        Darktable
GIMP (beta now has non destructive editing and much improved colour profile handling, both a massive win)
        Krita
        DaVinci Resolve
And many more… Look for the Adobe app on alternativeto.net and it will list many alternatives.

      • +2

Affinity is not quite pro level. Hobbyist maybe

      • Yep, I've entirely moved over to affinity for photo / design work and kdenlive for video work. Much better.

      • Eh, Affinity is Canva tier. Affinity is fine software, great actually. But it's still Canva's wheelhouse.

    • Think of how much you pay for all the streaming services per year. And this is a work tool…. Tax deductible

  • Oh dang I already cancelled my subscription from last LL deal

  • All I need is acrobat editing…. I hate subscription.

    • +1

Pdf? There are plenty of free tools for that

  • wow. that is so expensive

  • just use GenP from Reddit to restart the trial every 30 days.

  • +1

Been on 43$ per month since 3 to 4 years. Everytime I get to renew I threaten to go and either the support gives me 40% off or I get an automatic discount

  • I might be mistaken, but it seems like Shopback has 50% off for "first month" on top of the not so cheap 40% deal here?
