Just FYI. I bought a 64GB microSD recently and it died as soon as I tried to use it. Recieved the 'tested' replacement, it died the same way. Sent it back (Still waiting on refund), bought a Master microSD from ebay instead, and it hasn't had any of the same issues, works perfectly.
I know I'm not the only one who has had similar issues with these cards.

I must also say that I bought another 64GB microSD about 6 weeks or so ago and it's still working great, so you might be lucky…

    • +4

I'm also still waiting for my replacement card that got sent out 'on the 8th November'.

I'm getting the feeling that I'm not going to receive it because they 'never received the replacement'.

This has just been a big waste of time and money. Mostly disappointed by SanDisk cards tho, to be honest.

      • +3

looking back over there past "deals" there is always a string of unhappy customers who are totally ignored by the rep. fairly poor form.

        • The rep has actually been pretty good about responding to me. I think it's a bit harsh to be negging the deal just because you've had a bad experience.
Let people know that there is that potential, but judging by how many orders they get from OzB, I think those that have a bad experience are a small minority, and most are happy.

        • +2

Responding to you vs actually doing what they were going to say are different things.

It's pretty crappy the amount of people with the exact same issue.
I think it's fair enough to want to warn people. Especially if they are going to make a new post every week.

        • Hi theguyrules,

Different people have different experience with Australia Post as you can check on the post below regarding their delivery service.
Sending item via registered post still has its risk. We have around ten registered post articles getting lost every month.
The only good thing about registered post is we are able to claim compensation, but it will take ages before the investigation is completed and granted a compensation.

We try our best to solve every customer's problem, both products and delivery. There have been too many cases that we have encounter with AusPost delivery, it just never gets solved. For every package that we resend, it is out of our pocket, but we do our very best to assist customers.

Please if anyone has any issues, drop us an email at [email protected] or a PM on OZB. Our email system is working perfectly now and we promise not to miss anyone's email.

          Thank you.
          Francesca

        • Well for me, they've done just what they said. Recieved one card within 2 days of ordering, didn't work, so I contacted Fran and sent it back. Receieved a replacement 1 week later, also didn't work, contacted Fran, sent it back, and one week later I've just been issued a refund for the original purchase…
Other than the cards not working (which admittedly is a pretty big thing, but I could have been unlucky) The customer service has been some of the best I have experienced with any online seller.

  • Fran, you don't happen to have any 32GB cruzer fit drives lying around that you haven't put up on the website yet?

  • +3

have order from these guys before - quick service (got the card in about 2 days), and price.

had no issues with quality - both cards are working fine

    • Purchased below, and all working fine in various devices.

      2x16GB cls10
      2x32GB cls10

      +1 as per usual.

click frezy crazy francesca? these prices are no different from your regular 3 times per month posts. how about some extra sugar?

      Hi cornbeef,

I would if i still have the cost of goods i purchased 3 months ago, i would be slashing off another 10-20% for you all.
But the fact is memory prices have shoot up 15-25% since early October, that is why you can see price increase since the beginning of October till today.
The price i'm offering for a unit + free shipping is my best.
I can tho shoot up better prices if anyone is interested to buy 2 units and above, i can take off the shipping fees from there :)

      Cheers,
      Francesca

Hi Francesca, I just placed the order for 2x32gb cls10 and paid $65.90 via Paypal [order#7817]. Am I entitle to an adjustment of the cost?

      • +1

Lovely detailed reply thanks Francesca. So is it the case that SD prices have been increasing as HD prices have been falling? Memory is a strange spectral beast, not unlike a baskervillian hound.

        • +1

          Now i'm having comprehension issues…

        • yeh that last sentence darts all over the moors…

      • yes please
Please provide formula for better prices. at the moment thinking of 2 units, but could push that up to 8 units

        • Hi Guys,

I can't really put up a formula for this as the prices are different for each model & the margin is super tight.
All you need to do is to msg me via OZB with the qty and models you are looking to buy.
I will work out a better price for you.

          Cheers,
          Francesca

        • I messaged you five hours ago but haven't received any reply from you?

  • usual freeship price but just what i needed :)

    • Hey. Did you buy this for the "Tab 2 10.1" 3G? I missed this and now I am waiting for the amazon one at U$48.20 delivered, http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/85540 .
Yours will arrive earlier, let me know if it works: for now my conclusion is that a fat32 format will be needed.

Are any of these a good memory card for the Pentax Q deal?

    • fishing in the same pond esci. i've posted some links on the Q forum. AFAICT Q takes a SD card (not micro) but no mention of capacity. SD, HC and XC all OK apparently.

      • Cheers. I bought the 32gb Micro SD 30MB/S from the last deal which came with an adapter. I'm hoping it will work okay without limiting me in some areas, otherwise might have to buy the Extreme pro 95MB/S.

        • should be hunky dory cobb.

  • what is the deal for 16GB Ultra Class 10?

  • +7

Bought a SanDisk Ultra micro Sd 32gb. It was faulty straight out of the box. Sent it back to these guys. Haven't received any responses to my emails since then. I regret my purchase. I go on holiday in two days, and will have to put up with the inconvenience of not having a sd card with me. I ordered well in advance. Poor customer service. Francesca, you love to respond to people here. Why not look after your existing customers?
I am about to lodge a PayPal claim.

        Hi theguyrules,

You PM us your order number and we replied we will send you a replacement unit, which we did.
It is going to the exact same address that you have on file with us in QLD.
However, the unit was send via regular mail, that may be the main reason it did not arrive as Australia Post clearly fails to deliver a number of our mails every month.
We could not trace the packages as there are no tracking for them.

We will arrange to send you one tested unit today via express post to settle the issue.
Please kindly notify us when you receive the express package.

        Thank you.
        Francesca

For the record, I've never had anything lost from Aus Post. But I'll let you and the others know how I do. Thanks.

        • If you've never had anything lost by Australia Post, you're fortunate. About once a month I get a piece of mail for someone else delivered to me - sometimes for someone on the same street as me, but often for an address ~2 kilometers away, for a street which starts with the same letter, but that is the only similarity.

I also occasionally get my mail back, which has been delivered to someone else and opened by them, then they realise it isn't their mail and put it in my letterbox with an apology for opening it.

Have complained MANY MANY times to Australia post, all they do is say "We will monitor your mail for three months" and I don't get other people's mail for three months. Doesn't stop them from losing my mail for those three months, however.

        • my only experience:

i sold a game on ebay to this guy in adelaide. 2 weeks later, he claimed he still had not received the game, which was odd. i told him maybe auspost lost it. then he accused me of lying. his reason was that my first reaction was to accuse auspost, which in his opinion was weird. so i lost money through paypal and the game. i dont know for sure whether auspost lost my parcel or that guy lied. according to his later comment, i am inclined to the later…

        • Good old Australia Post.

The gentleman at the post office now knows me thanks to the amount of drama I had to go through with a mis-delivered parcel that I never received. Last week we also had one in our home mail box for someone with a completely different street name to ours, same number but.

Half the reason I use a PO Box now days is to save my mail making that one final leg where it potentially ends up at someone else's door. Not to say I haven't still had things go AWOL, but it seems to have reduced the number of international orders where four or five months after the purchase the store contacts me to say my returned mail had arrived (thankfully people are honest and return to sender).

Anyway long story short, I suggest to always ship registered (it's not that much more) when mailing to someone, and strongly consider it on your own purchases.

        • Use Registered Post!

        • +1

TBH I received the 2 replacements in less than 48hs . Unfortunately, I had also problems with those 64gb micro sd cards, and I have returned them. No I'm waiting for a refund, so I cannot say the supplies has been acting dodgy in any way. It seems the quality of the later batch of 64gb microsd cards is not the best and the supplier already sent me 2 replacements and now I'm waiting for the refund.

        • Got the card today. It has been opened so it seems it's been tested.

          Thanks Francesca, will revoke neg.

Hmm, quite a few unhappy ozbargainers out there with this vendor, it certainly scared me off buying from them…

      • +2

Unhappy customers tend to be more vocal than happy customers. Personally I have bought memory cards from them a few times, the most recent one just last week (microSD Ultra 32Gb), it was promptly shipped to me in 2 days, very impressed considered the free shipping. Have a read back on similar deals in OzBargain in the past month and year, you will see MemoryCity is highly regarded.

      Hi Sparky,

We respond to every customer who comes to us.
However with only your OZB user ID, I am unable to trace your order and all our conversation history.
Please PM me your order number and I will express post a tested unit to you to settle the case.

      Thank you.

      • Hi Fran

I need one 32G Ultra for my wife (actually need one for me too - just not enough dough ATM).

My only concern is she leaves for an overseas trip early December. If we had any dramas with the card not working we would not have sufficient time to get in a replacement.

As a pre-emptive solution are you able to test the card before dispatch. BTW it will be used in her SGS II (hoping there are no compatibility issues).

        Thank you.

        • Hi spal,

Sure I can arrange to test it before sending it out to you.
Please provide me with your order number and I will arrange it for you.
There will be no compatibility issues with her SGS II.

          Cheers
          Francesca

        • Thanks for your reply.

Just paid using Paypal. Order No.#007985.

          Thanks for your help.

  • Just bought "SanDisk 64GB Ultra Micro SD Class 10 - $64.95" for my soon to arrive Note2. Hope these stories aren't true… And I hope they don't release a 128gb version anytime soon…

    • My stick turned up today! My only complaint is it turned up AFTER my Note2 turned up today from Kogan. (6 days)

My stuff ALWAYS turns up, everything on ebay, amazon, now kogan and the ppl in this thread. I think the only time I didnt get something was a teefury Community shirt…

  • Excellent prices

  • Hi,could you please correct the price of the SANDISK EXTREME HD VIDEO SD CLASS 10 45MB/S 32GB SDHC MEMORY CARD, the promotion price is $32.95, but the check out price is 34.95. Once you correct it. I will place my order.

    • Hi hgaoxhgaox,

We put an update on the post for the price increase.
In the post, it was mentioned as a part of Click Frenzy, we are only offering 100 units of SanDisk 32GB Extreme SDHC Card at $32.95

I would recommend against memory city, I ordered a memory card on the 25th of October, it was supposedly shipped on the 26th waited about a week as per usual with domestic postage. Nothing came, I contacted them with their website, they asked for an order number, I replied and then they never replied back.

    • +1

Compare this with cheapchips.com.au where I ordered and paid the same price for a slightly better memory card on monday and have just received it today.

      • Hi Ethereal Winter,

We have up to date solved every email that we have in our inbox.
Please kindly PM me your order number and I will sort this out for you first thing tomorrow.

        Thank you.
        Francesca

        • Sent PM on 21 still no reply just like when I sent an email, will probably use paypal's charge back tomorrow.

        • Hi Ethereal Winter,

We have arranged to process your request on the 22nd.
Please kindly check on your PayPal account and keep us updated.

          Thank you.

While I got my 64gb fine for my Note 2 the packaging was outrageously bad.

It was in a normal envelope with no protection stuffed into my mail box. It could of rained, gotten crushed etc.

There is probably massive unorganized piles of cards strewn across the table and a poor lady has to put a card into an envelope to send it.

    • Hi auna,

All our 64GB are shipped with registered post, which request signature upon delivery.
Postie will deliver to your door and if no one is there to attend, the package will be left at the local post office and you will be carded to pick up the package.
That is the way we ship items which are costly as registered post provide this kind of service.

      Thank you.
      Francesca

  • Hi Rep, I just received my SanDisk 32GB Extreme HD Video SDHC. The results with H2testw as follows:

Warning: Only 3043 of 30424 MByte tested.
    Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
    Writing speed: 7.49 MByte/s
    Reading speed: 9.39 MByte/s
    H2testw v1.4

Obviously write and read are way below my expectations.

    Is this normal?

    • Did you tell it to only test for 3Gb? Cause if not that means you have a fake card "Warning: Only 3043 of 30424 MByte tested."
And you should be getting at least ~20Mb/s which that card.

      • Yeah, I asked it to do only 3gigs.. COuldn't wait too long. But the speed is worrying, isn't it? Rep please respond. Thank you

        • Hi skayper,

          Sorry for the late response.
I will advise for you to run a full test on the card and keep me updated on email.
There may be a few within the batch which are defective and we are happy to arrange for a replacement if the result of the full test is similar to the one above.

          Thank you.
          Francesca

        • Thanks for your response and my apologies for my very late reply.

I've just finished checking the card again and the result is very similar to the previous one. Here is the result of the full test of the card:

          Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
          Writing speed: 7.46 MByte/s
          Reading speed: 9.40 MByte/s
          H2testw v1.4

And actually, I have also bought from you back in May (Order #002444) for SanDisk 16GB Micro SDHC High Speed Edition and I performed the test as well with also not a very satisfying result compared to those results posted in http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/69283. I didn't really bother to contact you to raise the issue back then as I thought I could still live with it. However, because of the disappointing result of the Extreme card I think I need to mention the issue too. I just did the full test with 16GB High Speed card and the result is:

          Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
          Writing speed: 6.18 MByte/s
          Reading speed: 9.51 MByte/s
          H2testw v1.4

As you can see, the results from the two cards do not look good especially the Extreme card because the reading speed even below the High Speed card which actually still under performing.

          Please advise.

          Thanks.

    • It could be a limitation of the hardware, I'm only getting 17MB per second read speeds and the card claims 30.

  • Hi Fran,
Unfortunately, the 32GB SDCard I purchased in Oct has finally failed. Since I have had it, I have had issues with it not being recognised by my phone and I have had to reinsert it before it would work again. This morning it has finally died and it is unrecognisable. I have tried reading it in 4 different card readers, 2 different PCs and also another phone, all with the same results; no card is recognised. I am disappointed as I have probably lost all my data on there. I have sent an email to [email protected] with Subject:"Order: #006860 faulty item". I would appreciate it if you could address my issue ASAP. Thanks.

    • That's what happened to mine. It was working, then my S3 started to day 'sd card unexpectedly removed' all the time. And music would start cutting in and out.

  • Same here. Bought 2 pcs. One had failed within 3 weeks. My 2 card readers not detect the card. My galaxy tab 7 and galaxy s2 and s3 kept saying sd card unexpectedly removed and not able to mount it.

Not happy since loss all data including important pictures which not been transfer to pc yet.

Sent 2 emails last week and yesterday been ignored.

Will put dispute to paypal now

didnt see this until now. She did eventually get back to me, and send me a pre-tested micro sd card. Working fine now. Hope it continues to.
I dont think this company is bad, just seems very busy, and contact could/should be handled better.
I think this batch of the uhs1 sandisk cards have a very very high failure rate for some reason.

  • Sent back the card last friday. Until now, no notification whatsoever for news or replacement been sent.
I already dispute it to my credit card. never buy from this mob again even how cheap it is
