Since this is a Christmas Sale, will it arrive here in Australia by Christmas?

    • Will arrive in Australia by Christmas if you choose expedited shipping.

    • Means this isn't that great of a deal since I have to pay extra for shipping to make sure it arrives by Christmas.

  • +2

Actually your price should be $160.98 because people will want the Australia plug instead of the free China plug.

Also when it comes to shipping, the free China Post options is highly NOT recommended due to issues with batteries going through customs and will take a couple of months. So the next cheapest is Singpost at $4.99 which brings the price up to $165.97.

And I don't know if that's USD or AUD.

Actually it was interesting seeing the shipping options. It explains the roundabout way MP4nation was shipping my Cube via Singapore.

    • Hi, AinolStore chargers USD.

    • Australian & Chinese powerpoints are the same.

  • What delivery company do you use and how long will this take?
Last time I ordered from mp4nation and twice they tried to send via fedex and failed as fedex does not allow battery to be air mailed.

    • Just put it in the cart, provide your address and you will see the three options, their costs, and estimated time: Fedex, Singpost, and Chinapost (not recommended).

      • Oh you have to pay extra $$ for singapore post…. that is a - for me.

  • so its not really free shipping?

and what are the accessories included. it seems there its quite a number of addon cost on top of the tablet.

    • As far as I can tell, there are no free accessories other than the ones normally provided. I think the point is that you can save money by buying the accessories as a bundle now

  • is it a good deal? compare to nexus 7 8GB for about 200

    • If there was a Nexus for $200, then obviously the Nexus is going to be the better buy. Isn't the 8GB Nexus 7 superseded now? Google only sells the 16 and 32GB variants now.

  • +4

How is this a good deal?.. It was $150~ delivered at http://www.buyincoins.com/ on release date.

  • +1

Do you know when the Novo Captain will be released.

    • It is said next year.

  • has this been fixed of all screen issues? the flame / fire has been plagued with problems with the screen dying.

I know only too well as I bought one only to have to send it back at my expense.

be careful buying this tablet is all I can say.

  • +1

what's the point of buying these chinese imports ??? when they break, and they do! where do you take it to get fixed? and for how much $$$, warranty? kiss it good bye! unblvable!! just buy local for similar pricing and specs, many listed on this OZBARGAIN website

  • +1

Hi I have this tablet here is some info for anyone considering buying this:

The dead screen issues have been fixed by third party developers. Even if you brick your tablet you can still recover it using the tools provided. There was also a mosquito noise coming from the early batch screens on half brightness, which also has been solved (irrelevant as the current units don't have this problem).

A theory was suggested that using the provided charger caused permanent dead screen problems. Knowing this I've never used the provided wall charger as it will charge through its micro usb port to a regular usb port/wall plug, exactly as you would do with an android phone, so no need for any AU adaptors.

AFAIK there are 5 ROMS available including the stock one and 4 from other developers; 3 ICS and 2 JB. The instructions are clear and precise for someone not familiar with flashing ROMS.

I specifically wanted a 1280 resolution so I can play 720p natively, which it does no problem.

I bought this in August when its specs were the best bang for buck, I don't know if that is still the case but I am happy with it and would recommend it now based on its merits alone, even at the listed price
(which technically isn't a bargain as this was going for about $140 on pre-order).

    • Not for me. My issue was a widespread one whereby the gpu chip fried because of voltage irregularities caused by poor firmware. Ainol themselves eventually acknowledged this to be the case.

By now they may well have resolved the issue but I stopped following the threads on slaterdroid and the Ainol site so don't know that for a fact.

So I returned my tablet back to Buyincoins and they refunded me in full.

Bit of a pain and in the end I was $20 out of pocket for return postage.

      Ces't la vie.

I now have a Cube U30GT 10.1" from the recent deal that mp4nation were offering.

  • I bought novo fire in sept in the first batch with chinese version (its the same build as flame). Have you flashed your ROM? is your runin on JB? mine still in its original/ preload os. Can you please post the link of the latest os & instructions? I've no issues so far except the pop speaker noise, (it's not not too bad, acceptable). I bought mine from BIC, the unit arrived with some chinese printed on the top left corner of the box, later someone translated for me and it said "Not allow to sell outside China"!

    • Yep I flashed the JB CM10 ROM originally, worked fine except for deep sleep issues and imediashare force closing after 5 minutes. Popping was gone, but I went back to ICS Feiyu 1031, but since then the JB deep sleep issues have been resolved. I haven't gone back as I can't fault the 1031 ROM.

With 1031 I have tested about 9 days of standby time with almost no usage and wifi off. There are pops when you open apps and press home button which doesn't bother me, but some people with the stock ROMS were having random popping sounds during deep sleep. Try plugging in earphones overnight if you just want a quick fix for this.

Ainol released some official firmware updates that need to be applied via an AML tool, which I think you need to do before flashing any of the newer ROMS as it addresses issues that are unable to be fixed via a microsd flash:

      http://www.lokumrom.com/index.php/Using_AML_Flash

Once you have done that check here for the ROMS you want to use:

      http://www.slatedroid.com/forum/422-firmware-development/

Before doing any of this check if your tablet is a qm or tm edition by going Settings, About Tablet, Build Number, as there are different versions of these ROMS for the different editions.

Good luck, it's all overwhelming at first, just read everything thoroughly because if you run into problems more than likely someone else has also, and the solution will be there somewhere. Be sure to register and thank the developers if you are happy with the end product.

and of course: FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK!

  • Every tablet I've used has made a popping sound when I open an app that uses sound, even with the sound turned to zero…

I thought this was normal…. I guess I better go get it checked by telstra.

  • You need to be very careful when dealing with Ainol Store. Most likely denghongterry here is the same as terry1989 over on the ainol store forum. To be fair, Terry did reply to my initial post on the ainol store forum, but he has been silent since December 3, 2012, when he posted the following:

"Hi Android763, we are sorry for this issue. I've forwarded your complain to the manager of the customer service. They will investigate this issue and back to you as soon as possible. Please let us know if you do not receive the reply by the end of this week."

In addition to this, Terry told me to contact "Megan" in

post-sales customer service at +86 755 83954295. This is the same customer

    service number for androidinabox.com.

Ainol Store is trying to steal $1049.70 from me. I placed an order on September 19,2012, for nine pieces of the Aurora II tablet with AC adapters, plus two pieces of the keyboard case. I had given them the benefit of the doubt and tried to be reasonable. When enough was enough and I finally requested a refund, I received nothing but lies and attempts at deception. To date, no refund has been received.

  • At 07:00:16 GMT+04:00 on December 17, 2012, Ainol Store paid $1049.70 into my PayPal account for undelivered order #100001714. PayPal took $41.24 in fees, so I received only $1,008.46. I will chalk the missing $41.24 up to lesson learned: under no circumstances whatsoever allow an open PayPal transaction to go past 40 days. Call me a sucker, but somehow I believe that Ainol Store is sincerely sorry for the inconvenience caused. Perhaps the real moral of this story is that no matter what happens, PayPal/Ebay (and other financial entities) will always come out on top, and the rest of us are just pawns used to help shovel the money around from one place to another.
