Seems bugged, tested on my friends account as I have Season Pass and it worked without any issues. Go into the ingame Marketplace (it should now have a star) and the Crimson Map pack can be confirmed, downloaded and played for free.
This is surely a bug, so get in QUICK!
We did it less than half an hour ago. If it does not work for you try getting into a War Games under the Crimson Playlist, it will take you to the page.
Just tried, didn't work. Tried market place from the main menu and after trying to join the war games DLC playlist. Comes up as 800MS points. Ah well.

It comes up as 800 points and wants me to add funds, it has been fixed. Always miss these things :(
Expired? Tried downloading in-game, but it just wants more points.
I got it to work! Rebooted the game and it came up 0 points and downloaded, playing now.
Someone marked this as expired, it is still apparently working.

start the game signed off
when prompted. sign in to ur gamertag
the ad will then pop up advertising the new maps
click go on the add and it will bring up the transaction page (note: do not click marketplace well its loading.
the transaction page will load and state your current mp value (i had 150) and the price of the item which is currently 0.
click confirm and enjoy ur download "

Your instructions didn't work exactly for me. Once I got to "click go on the add and it will bring up the transaction page (note: do not click marketplace well its loading." … I waited ages but it never came up.
Instead I went to Infinity, then War Games, then selected Crimson DLC. It redirected me to marketplace, and I got the maps for free. So it still worked out, just by a different method!
However, since I bought the collectors edition, I think the first map update was supposed to be included anyway. Perhaps it detected my game version and gave it to me for free?
Iceman, your instructions worked for me. As someone who bought the bog standard non-collectors edition, I can confirm that the map pack is free. Get on it whilst you still can!
Arhh no ad for me advertising new maps. Still can't get this working. Followed emwearz & Iceman82's instructions. I start logged out, sign in, nothing, no ad. Then navigate to DLC playlist in Wargames and the marketplace still says 800 points. Have I missed something?
Iceman's instructions just worked for me. Got to download it anyway, have not tried to play it yet.

I tried to get it for my brothers profile too, since his profile is on my xbox. It didn't work a second time around, probably because I'd already downloaded it to my xbox.
My goal was to get it while the glitch is still working, so that he can use his xbox later using the "you have downloaded this before, would you like to try again?" thing. Oh well, I guess he'll just have to come over and we'll split screen if he really needs the maps.

(one thing you had to do is check your xbox messages, there will free avatar code once u redeem that code, you able to get the free crimson pack)
I think this must have been patched already.
