  Cheapest on local Ebay is $245 delivered. International is about $235 delivered.

  It's $US200 + shipping at amazon.com but they don't deliver here so it's an unfair comparison.

  It's not an amazing deal, but if you're after this sort of thing it appears to be a good time and price for it.

    not at all. if you have the old one (i do), no point to upgrade to contour 2. if you dont have any and want one, it is a good deal (not great, but good enough at the time being).

    Mate bought one last week and image is more stable than mine. The 60 f/p look good in slow motion. I like the natural colours better.

  Eh just saw its only 30fps on tall HD. Use this format on the bike and if there's no improvement then I might give it a miss this time.

    actually, i am considering a second unit too (for skiing, snorkelling and scuba diving). i would like to save up and wait for a good deal on gopro hd3 black edition. 1080p60 / 720p120 will be very cool! but i will also keep contour roam 1. it is cheap and looks good. imo, you dont get much improvement from roam 2 for that $200. and when roam 3 comes out next year, will you pay $200 again?

  Looking at some of the youtube videos it seems to have either crappy or non-existent image stabilization.
  IS is very important for what is supposed to be a sports camera.

    Yarp. IS in camera is, potentially, a video ruin-er. A little bit of it can be beneficial. A lot of it can be horrific. You're far better off with good source material and post processing, if you're after something for publishing, than aggressive in built IS.

    That said, I doubt the IS on this product is particularly aggressive. It's probably not much more than average.

  I've got the original and prefer it over my friends' GoPros. I like the shape better and use it for snow boarding. Fits on the side of the helmet which i think is better than on the top on the helmet (yes i wear a helmet). My friends use their GoPro for on/in car track footage and they're good for that, but so are the Contours.

  I want to upgrade but they've made it too complicated and expensive. Some have bluetooth, some have the laser and some have GPS. And if I want eveything (I do) then it costs way too much. I'm holdimg off till they streamline their range and make it easier to choose a model that suits me.
