  • Doesn't this one have better specs (for an extra $200)?

A MSI GX60 is a little more but much better value.

    http://www.lmc.com.au/products/580752/MSI_GX60_1AC-034AU

    • +1

An alternative product with slightly better specs does not mean you neg.. the MSI doesn't have bang and olufsen speakers, if you've heard them before you'd know why the entire ASUS N series (and Zenbooks) are boasting about them.

      However, http://www.onlinecomputer.com.au/product_info.php?products_i…
found via staticice seems to say this listing isn't the cheapest.

      • I reckon, as a gaming laptop which usually tends heavily base its performance on the GPU, the 7970M is significantly faster better stronger than the 650M.

I think the fact it isn't the cheapest may contribute to the neg.

        • The 7979M 2gb is indeed better than the GT650M 4gb but the majority of users will not notice a difference between these two cards, they both run demanding games at max. The i7 3630QM is significantly "faster better stronger" than the AMD A10.

I think the fact that the msi is more expensive, and looks like a brick, does not contribute to a neg on my post.

This is also much newer and better built.

5% of people would choose your one, think before you neg someone like your better than them.

        • Not only is the 7970m better than the gt650m, it is very significantly better.

As far as gaming laptop goes, the MSI is overall better.

I'll probably add that, the difference is extremely noticeable with the speed difference. Its comparing a Nissan 350z to a Porsche GT3. Both are Class 1 sports cars but the Porsche is really made for the track and very significantly faster.

Dunno what % of people would choose the gt650m, but I know most gamers, would definitely choose the 7970M over the gt650m with much less regards to the other specs.

That is an invalid reason, and great job on reading the edit and trying to be a smartass

        • @SrMoure thanks for reposting the link i put up I guess…?
The original neg reason was for an alternate product at a higher price, that isn't a valid reason to neg…
Then I pointed out this isnt a bargain because of the identical product being offered at a lower price.

  • Nice laptop, only concern is Windows 8 - Probably I will buy from http://www.onlinecomputer.com.au which final price delivered is $1,208.

  • Price in the title is not correct. MLN website still shows $1280 + shipping - Please amend

Still more expensive. MLN shipping is $29, while Online computers shipping is $8.29

  • So tempting…from Online anyway. Win 8 is no problem, I have a spare Win7 licence here I can slap on it instead…… Do I upgrade or not….. argh!

    • Except for W8, the specs are great for an all rounder laptop - The price is right, but there could be further discounts. (also this model doesn't come with blue ray)

Other cons are: 5400rpm HDD and battery life
