+2 votesThanks for the tip… Got some Prestige shoes for 64.95 after 50% off and then $10 off …. If you have wide feet, Hush Puppies are one of the few brands that really caters for them… and their shoes are so light, they are great for wearing all day if you move around a lot like me …
redcreek200 on 27/12/2012 - 20:42 ¶Didn't realise Hush Puppies had wide sizes so thanks for the info. Had been getting all my shoes overseas till now for my wide feet. Will check them out.

I bought a pair last year for about $180, thinking I'd finally get myself a great pair of proper high quality work shoes. I usually only buy the cheap $30-40 ones from Target.
Shortly after the purchase I read on Whirlpool that Hush Puppies quality had taken a big downturn, many people reporting the shoes simply coming apart, soles falling off, etc. I hoped that would'nt be the case with mine, but sure enough 5-6 months later the sole began coming off on the side, exposing my foot…
Pretty disappointing… :/ If I had'nt bought them overseas (in an upmarket dept. store) then I'd be claiming warranty.
One of the WP threads discussing quality concerns here - http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1889374

Happy with HP shoes so far . My feet is pretty wide so it suits well with the HP and its pretty comfort to wear it.
Bought one for work last year and it still going previously I need to swap every 6months for my work -its Julius marlow?
Bought myself a casual HP perkins for $59.97.Love it!
Thx for the post OP.
macharmaine on 27/12/2012 - 21:49 ¶wow I didn't realised their quality had gone downhill. I've had 2 pairs of Hush Puppies quite a few years ago, one summer one winter, and they both lasted several years, after being worn almost daily to work for long hours and walked around a lot. so disappointed to hear their quality is not good anymore.

+5 votesIf you are getting a decent deal from a retailer, don't punish them for you forgetting to save $10, and making them cover the free return when it's not a genuine reason for a return. It's behaviour like this that gets "free returns" removed from being offered to customers.
I don't see exploiting a retailer for our forgetfulness as being the spirit of OzB, but that could just be me.
-1 voteStill hugely overpriced.
I bought this one http://www.hushpuppies.com.au/mens/sandals/becalm-14.html#94... overseas for $23 about 4 months ago. Still going good.
Will import a few and sell them on ebay I think :-)
+2 votesIf you haven't tried Hush Puppies before, it may be worth trying them in store first. I found that they were slightly bigger when trying my usual size and I had to go a size smaller. The website does offer free returns, but it would be disappointing to have to return it and find that your true size is sold out.
hellothankyou on 28/12/2012 - 15:30 ¶I bought the Vienna ballet flats for both my mum and me during the iconic sale and they were surprisingly cute and very comfortable. I found the womens sizing true to size. The flats are soft leather and stretched to comfort level within 2 wears.

I found the prices cheaper on theiconic. I bought a shoe in the iconic few hours back for $74.98. The same shoe is $99 after discount. Original price is $169.

+1 voteThe Iconic are currently selling "Grayden" Hush Puppies for $55 which is less than the Hush Pup website even when you take into account their "50% off" and the welcome code.
http://www.theiconic.com.au/Grayden-81748.htmledit.. they only have size 11, which just happens to be my size

Just received mine..
The Grayden are suprisingly good quality. Solid stitching, especially to the sole.
The Perkins aren't quality in my opinion. They look like they're made in a different factory. The shoe to sole connection is just glued and doesn't look like it'll last. Will consider returning.
The Perkins doesn't even have a removable insole (Grayden does)
alcallsmeoliver on 18/01/2013 - 18:28 ¶my profile wallaby arrived today!!! very good quality and very happy!!! best of all, only cost me $39 LOL!
