expired 320GB Hard Drive for Xbox 360 S with Lego Star Wars $99 at Kmart
This was posted 4 months 23 days ago, and might be an out-dated deal
Hey guys - thought I'd post this as I've been looking for one of these for a while. I know you can grab them overseas for this price, but at $99 from Kmart with a local warranty I thought it was a pretty good deal.
Could not find this advertised anywhere (Picked mine up from Castle Hill NSW) so I'm not sure when the offer ends.

+1 votedrbuckyballs on 31/12/2012 - 10:19 ¶title should be edited, confusing. i thought the console was included also and I was just about to goto kmart and get 2…

I converted an old Western digital 160GB laptop drive I had lying around for my XBOX slim over the weekend to save a few bucks. It took quite a while to do, and given my time over again I would happily cough up $99 for a larger drive with a pretty decent game included.

This is the guide I used
http://digiex.net/guides-reviews/console-guides/xbox-360-gui...
Delays were caused by me not reading the instructions properly, the version of HDDHACKR being slightly different, so I didn't create partitions first time round. There was no HDDSS.bin file for 160GB, took a while searching for one before I realised I had to use a 120gb one.
Finally I thought there was a problem because I could still not get some original XBOX games to work, I thought I'd stuffed the restoration of partition 2 which contains the emulator. Later discovered that although I was connected to XBOX live, I wasn't signed in, so it didn't download the patch.
IslandStyle on 01/01/2013 - 11:56 ¶Thanks for the link, I'll look into it. I don't foresee that I'll need 320GB so was also considering that as an option, or simply using a 32GB flash drive. While this isn't a bargain as such, it's still a great deal. Much confused.
+1 votescytherbladez on 31/12/2012 - 13:28 ¶I just made a 320GB HDD for my xbox 360 s, which took 30 mins tops. It was a piece of cake!
293GB free :D

I was actually in the market for one around Boxing Day hoping they would go down to a more realistic price (the wireless N adaptors seem to have gone down from $150 to $47 or somewhere there abouts), but this HDD, well I couldn't find it in stock at a JB, EB or HN in my local area. so I'm not sure what Microsoft has planned but seems they are phasing these out, (maybe larger hdd again to compete with Sony, much like how they no longer sell the 250gb ones, not that you would need that much space).

I assume this won't fit the original (beige) Xbox 360 purchased a few years ago? If not, what would people recommend for storage for said machine. I thought an 8GB USB flash drive would be good enough but that filled up pretty fast. I also believe cloud storage only works with Xbox Live Gold Membership, which we have now but I don't want to be locked into that. Thanks for any suggestions.

Thanks for the suggestion - I think I bought a 16GB flash drive before but it was too slow, so ended up on with an 8GB. I think we are using one USB port for the Kinect. I'm also a bit hesitant about using a flash drive because 1) 16GB (or 32GB) is not that much more than 8GB and we went through that pretty fast, and 2) the flash drives look awfully fragile sticking out from the Xbox on the front (Kinect is connected on the back).
-1 voteIf you want to be excessive plug in a 2Tb external hard drive from JB hi-fi they are only like $80 at the moment. Otherwise just get a 320Gb portable HDD from officeworks for $50 or a 500Gb portable HDD for $50 from somewhere else I forget who had them on special. I can say the 320Gb Officeworks ones are samsung on the inside and are also 9.5mm so they can fit in your PS3/laptop if you ever decide to.
