  Forget about price match in sydney bigw, called 3 of them, the moment I said the word "price match", they already said "we do not price match any online price" and i told them some other bigw did price match and I got receipt proof, and they dont care saying their managers not allow and hung me up! so its pure luck !!!

    Also, back luck on the call. I had quite a rude person answer when I called my local DSE for a stock check. I asked if they had any in stock and all I heard was a 'no' and then they immediately hung up. Just wow.

  Strange I saw a 160 gig model at Moonne Ponds for ~$300 but it said out of stock?

  Above link is dead, the 160G deal is GONE !!! saw a few slackers selling these at a rip-off price on gumtree, I did confirm with them that they got from this deal, and sure they wont drop their price.

    Something is worth what others are willing to pay, unless you are actually stupid, or have really poor business skills, selling something for the current market price doesnt make these people "slackers" it actually makes them profitable business people, most retail buys items and then marks up the price (in case you didnt know) these people are doing the exact same thing yet undercutting the other retailers proving customers with a good deal (just not a great one like this from ozbargin).

    I understand this is wrong from a fellow ozbarginer approach, in which we want as many people as possible to get a good price.

      What if the people selling them on Gumtree were Dick Smith employees, who got their PS3s by jumping the queue ahead of people that legitimately reserved stock online. Would you still think there was nothing wrong?

        They get paid peanuts, its a perk of the job, the guys i bought one from had no idea they were that cheap (and wanted one after he found out), i think they should limit to 1 per person, but they can do with it what they like.

        End of the day, still getting it for $300 as opposed to $400.

        But i think it will be hard to get a price match from BigW now because they need alot of proof since the price is more than half the price that they are currently selling
