+1 voteWell, the price cutting seems to have bottomed out a few months ago and all the new deals are on the 4G version. If you were buying this phone you probably should have done it a few months ago.
Right now, we're only 1/3 of the cycle away from S4, which is rumored to have a 1080p screen. This rumor is plausible, because HTC has a 1080p 5" screen already (440ppi) with the Butterfly / Droid Razr.
If you can hold out, may as well wait for that.

The price cutting on the S3 actually came very quick. About $600 you could get it for only a month after it released. It continued dropping from there. About 2-3 months after it, and it was down to 500-550. The GNexus followed similar patterns.
then you decided to wait for the S4 prices to drop to $469+$19 Shipping, then the S5 is almost out, then you waited…waited…waited…and waited.
This would only be true if price dropping happened on a linear scale. It doesn't with Samsung phones. They drop very quick in the first few months then diminishing returns, then it bottoms out. There is absolutely no advantage to waiting till 8 months into the cycle. You could have gotten it 4 months in for the same price (even cheaper actually.. I've seen below $500 on this phone months ago).
If you've already waited this long, a 1080p screen is well worth 4 months. Is it worth waiting 12 months for? No. But if he's not urgent, I'd rather wait than be kicking myself for getting a far inferior phone.

Correction: I've seen this phone below $400 before, though it sold out quick. That was months ago. There's no point waiting 8 months into a cycle to jump in. 3 or 4 months is when you get the best price before diminishing returns kicks in.
Waiting for S4 does not mean waiting forever. Especially if you have something useable in the mean time.
Maxx Power on 02/01/2013 - 16:51 ¶According to the UniqueMobile rep (on their facebook page) it seems Samsung raised the prices on the S3 4G just before Xmas which is why there hasn't been many deals around…
The cheapest I could find the 4G version was from eGlobal for $494 + $29 shipping, minus $10 coupon (chk10) comes to AU$513….
Checked with the online rep this morning and there is still stock of the grey colour.

That deal you linked is postage included. It was much better. Still a half decent deal though
