c4ppuc1nn0 on 04/01/2013 - 16:54 ¶I think all 14" laptops don't have those dedicated buttons.
Some 15" laptops have it but not all.
Perhaps you need to look at 17" or higher laptop.
I am talking about deidcated PgDn/PgUp/Home/End keys, not about the full (desktop-style) keyboard.
Most 14" laptops have them, even other Sony 14" laptops from the same E series:

http://sp.sony-europe.com/da/629/204097.jpeg
seriously sony?
btw. every laptop i've had has dedicated pgup pgdn end home keys… even down to 12s and 13s
AussieMark on 04/01/2013 - 20:12 ¶lol what you guys on about. I have a sony Vaio Z cost $3500 2 yrs ago for top of the line.
All the 14 inch screens do this. We just hold one key then push the arrows for pg up, down etc.
Pretty standard practise really for most laptops… to have a function key

I think the worst thing about this keyboard is the layout of it. Forget about the page up or down they really should be using the island style keyboard. My 13" laptop had more than enough room to include this. I think the general crammed nature of this keyboard is far worse than the missing keys.

highdealer on 04/01/2013 - 18:57 ¶bought from the boxing day sale, postage is quite fast, server was decent, stock control seem good unlike catch of the day and mwave hourly deal, the rep could be more responsive though
chansthename on 04/01/2013 - 19:12 ¶It's a good deal in my book, but surface pro …
So hard to resist the temptation.

halfaznpersuasion on 04/01/2013 - 23:23 ¶how old is this laptop? 2nd gen processor, so im guessing a couple years old?

launch 1st quarter 2012

CyberGenesys on 05/01/2013 - 17:54 ¶Definetly, I have that in a Toshiba L850 and it will play most games at medium-high (depending on resolution). The only one I've had real trouble with was GTA IV, but I believe that is to be expected.

Your problem might be non-unicode characters; this is a problem I sometimes run into with Japanese games.
The Microsoft language packs actually just change the various menus and dialog box texts over to another language; they don't have anything directly to do with to OS's ability to display a given language.
If your software writes text to the screen in unicode, then it should display correctly regardless of which language settings you have (as long as the fonts are installed). But if the software uses some old encoding system (e.g. Shift-JIS for Japanese), then the OS can usually tell that it's meant to be a non-Roman language, but there's no clean way to tell which language it should be. That's why you need to find the setting for which language to assume non-unicode text should be rendered into.
One small problem with this is that if you want to mix languages in your software, it can get weird. It's usually not too bad for English and something else, though. For example, when running mostly English software but with Japanese non-unicode support, all the happens most of the time is that "/" is drawn as a yen symbol.
-2 votesGrays seem to have had it for $629 - http://www.graysonline.com/retail/SVE14A15FGH-R/computers-an... - so not that much of a saving?
Bargain Seeker on 06/01/2013 - 19:07 ¶This happened to me. My cart said $557 and then clicked onto paypal and they wanted $750

Bargain Seeker on 06/01/2013 - 19:07 ¶Exact same thing happened to me. I went via paypal and even though I was refreshing my cart from 7:57pm every 10 seconds with 2 browsers I was unlucky.

Yay, got one. Add to cart - > checkout -> paypal -> back from paypal and need to confirm details -> process order -> after loading for a while I'm thrown back wbecause I didn't agree to terms -> process order -> waiting during load again and I'm thrown back because I forgot to add phone number (f*ck) -> process order -> Order complete :)
Was 7.00 when I added to cart and just turned 7.04 when processed. Didn't think it was going to be good enough considering how hammered these things usually get, but maybe I was just being overly paranoid :)
soakwashrinsespin on 06/01/2013 - 19:11 ¶waiting during load again and I'm thrown back because I forgot to add phone number (f*ck)
LOL, had the same thing happen to me. I thought I had made sure I had all details filled in my account beforehand, so I was surprised when the phone number wasn't auto-filled. Got my order in at 8:04 here, too.
Chris McMahon on 06/01/2013 - 19:21 ¶not such a great deal?
I thought it was. But if you find a better one, feel free to post it.
soakwashrinsespin on 06/01/2013 - 19:26 ¶They sold out at about 8:05, but it looks like they added a bit more stock later on. From the comments here, demand clearly exceeded supply.
