itzinfinite on 08/01/2013 - 14:58 ¶I feel like it's a fair price for a prebuilt system. Can you provide the model of the motherboard or at least tell us the number of additional RAM slots, expansions etc.
Do you have any pictures from your previous work? I'd like to see your cable management (not doubting just want to make sure). Cheers.
itzinfinite on 08/01/2013 - 15:25 ¶Cool thanks, I was expecting one of the cheaper Asrock B75M motherboards so it's a pleasant surprise. I often wonder about warranty on prebuilt systems. If I was to transfer over my 1TB drive and my SSD to this PC and take the new 1TB drive and install it onto my current PC, would it void the warranty? I'm looking at giving away my current PC to a younger sibling while upgrading.
NVM, I found the pickup conditions on your site

Agreed haha, when a part isn't specified in a cheaper build I always assume it's the cheapest collection of metal and fibreglass possible to make every other decent part work right. @mrpcgeek you should put that in the description, a nice Gigabyte board (or equivalent) is definitely something to highlight :)

Prices look good compared to static ice, I priced the builds at $649, $729 and $839. Meaning you get it built and warranty for $50-55 which is great (not inc shipping).
You save here a lot on the case+PSU combo which you'd generally skip in a custom build. The mobo is a cheapy but is also upgradable for $19.
Do you allow pickup?
If its not supplied with windows, are the drivers pre-installed?
+1 voteYes pickup is available but please note it will not be ready for pickup until the coming Monday. We build on demand and have stock shipped to us at the end of every week to meet purchased orders.
Driver CDs will be provided for the motherboard and graphics card. Drivers can't be pre-installed as there is no base operating system.
ethereal88 on 08/01/2013 - 15:52 ¶I'd rather get a better Coolermaster HAF case or Corsair Carbide with a proper PSU over that crappy case combo. Its well worth the cash. Still good build overall.

-2 votesNot a great deal, a lot of the parts included in this are el cheapo and crap. For example, the mobo included in these is a POS, same with the included PSU in the Thermaltake case. My suggestion would be to invest a bit more cash and get a overclockable K series CPU, a better mobo with the Z77 chipset, and a better quality PSU (all of which could be obtained for a total of $100-150 on top of these prices).

what if they just need a average pc just to play minimal/average games?
what if they don't wanna overclock?
that is only your opinion on your own baseline specs and you don't have to neg because it isn't up to scratch on your own standards
GreatWhiteHunter on 08/01/2013 - 19:44 ¶Plus from me as the case is USB 3.0 (most people still peddling crappy USB 2.0 front port stock) and you have a few CPU options. Also upgrade cost from B75 to Z77 mobo is only $29…
$190 to go from I3 to I7 seems $10 or so higher than it should be - why do people wanting quad core get gouged :)
Overall though pretty good. Use the Windows 8 upgrade thingy for a $14.99 licence and you've got a pretty decent PC for less than $900…
Would be good to know what brand/model mobo you get when you goto z77 - same applies to 700w PSU and 120gb SSD…
GreatWhiteHunter on 08/01/2013 - 19:49 ¶IIBUY are advertising a $699 i7 gaming PC on this page but the link leads nowhere…

This is the link you're looking for, but it returns "Sorry, the product was not found"

GreatWhiteHunter on 09/01/2013 - 12:48 ¶They have fixed the link now.

Seems pretty decent…
No USB 3.0 on the front and a worse GPU but a lot cheaper and free Aus-wide delivery….
+1 voteSeems OK.
A couple of suggestions from me:
If it's mostly for gaming, the GPU is great but still weak for those CPUs. With that GPU, the i3-3220 is still not going to slow you down. I suspect a Radeon HD 7850 with an i3-2100 would get you quite a bit better performance in most new games.
If it's not for gaming (or photoshop or anything else intensive) those CPUs are still maybe a bit overkill; on that budget I'd get an i3-2120 and spend the savings on an SSD, that'll make a much more noticeable difference than the slight extra speed in some apps, I imagine.
OP, how about running a popular game on max settings on these machines and posting benchmarks?
