Weber Q100 Baby $250 "Managers Special" at Rays Melbourne City
This was posted 4 months 14 days ago, and might be an out-dated deal
Went into Rays to find an esky and walked out with one of these Weber Q100 Baby WeberQ barbecues.
I've been looking at these for a while and the cheapest I have seen is $259 at Barbeques Galore.
"Managers Special" at $250. RRP is $289 so $39 off.

+1 voteI have one, and I find that the grill is too small. I'm moving overseas so selling it, but will get a bigger version when i get to my new home.
The problem I have with it is that despite the cooking method of all around heat, there are 2 "hotspots" that have to be avoided on the grill. You can see them - they're the 2 spots at either end of the grill where there's no gap in the bars. These hold too much heat, so food will get burnt if put here.
There is enough space to cook around this area for a small family (2 adults, 2 small kids), but anymore than that and it's a struggle. Added to that we like cook some onions etc. on the grill - so put a cast iron plate on one end. when that is there, there is only just enough space left for 4 hamburgers…
Admittedly this is not sold as a family BBQ, more a camping or patio BBQ. Still… we found when cooking for more than 2-3 adults, we end up having to cook & eat in shifts. if you overload the grill it doesn't retain heat well (something about the airflow around the food).
On the plus side, it does cook well provided you don't overload it and it is incredible frugal on gas, and now I've learned to cook on it, food is always tender and delicious!
The small pizza stone works really well, though slow eating is required - on pizza takes about 15-20 minutes, so count on 1 hour to cook enough for 4 adults.

Two important things to note when cooking - a) you need to preheat them, b) they are designed to cook with the lid down all the time (even with steaks). At $250 it's a steal, but otherwise you're much better off getting the 100E which is the premium version (RRP $299) as it has a higher lid, electric ignition and a thermometer. You can only get the 100E's at premium dealers though.
If you want to feed any more then 2-3 people, go for the Q200 (or Q220 for premium bits if you're near a premium dealer). It's still quite portable and just that bit bigger.
Great BBQ's, if I wasn't so frugal I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

$250 seems an ok price for Q100.
