2x 1kg Bay Beans Forte Coffee Beans $39.97 (Was $73.40) - Whole Beans ONLY

430

Edit: deal is now expired, but I will leave the order page open on the deal page for anyone that wants to order 4x 1kg at $39.97x2 = $79.94 (same value, I just have some larger courier satchels left now). Perfect if you want to get a family and friends or office group buy together, or you need a larger quantity for yourself or work.

(MODS: I haven't updated the title and don't think I should. If you think otherwise, please modify. )

What you get:

After a trial, I have decided to send ALL coffee orders in boxes, where previously they were sent in satchels. This move is costing me money, but it is the result of a business decision. So, I have a bunch of courier satchels that are left over and need to be used. This is where you can benefit. Get yourself 2x 1kg bags of Forte Coffee beans (Whole Bean only - no preground), individually packed inside a courier satchel, delivered to your door free, for $39.97 total price.

This offer will NOT be repeated and is for the OzBargain community. Once stock is exhausted, this offer will be marked as expired early - obviously this is running at a good loss.

2kg Forte coffee beans Whole Beans only.
Free Delivery

Everyday price: $73.40
OzBargain price: $39.97

EDIT: just to clarify, the coffee is fresh roasted, just the courier satchels are existing stock. You will get two 1kg bags of fresh roasted coffee inside a courier satchel.

Best beans I've tried. My favourite to date. Now can someone find a bargain on an awesome machine for me… Im ready to upgrade!

    • I might be able to help you out with a machine, pm me!

  • Hey James, sounds like this is existing stock. Do you know roughly how long ago was it roasted? Thanks! :)

    • It's existing stock of satchels, not beans. He'll still roast them when ordered.

    • +2

What Schwinn said, the satchels are existing stock - the beans are roasted fresh.

      • Awesome, good deal!

  • +1

Any deals for 1kg James? 2kg is too long for me to hold the beans.

That, or anyone wanna go halves in Adelaide?

the next deal will be for 1kg, but it cant be as good as this.. can it?

      • This is a great deal. Good timing too.

I will cut it into 250 gram valved baggies then squeeze 'n freeze them.

Seems to work well as long as you let them thaw fully when still sealed.

        • -2

you shouldn't freeze coffee beans! for long term storage you need vacuum seal.
once coffee beans are roasted, they need 1-2 week to mature. after that they are best consumed within 4-6 weeks.

        • mate, where do you get your information from? I agree with not freezing…but the rest???

        • toby's estate was my orignal source. i found this out 6-7yrs ago, and since then i've spoken to quite a few roasters from beans drinking in crows nest to blue bottle in san francisco.

i haven't bought toby's estate in last few yrs but i remember that had something like this on their bag that stated - best before 4 weeks from the roasting date.

the best way to tell is taste it yourself, and not what i or others say.
moreover i said best consumed within 4-6 weeks, and that doesn't mean that coffee is going to taste like crap. most likely it will still be good but not great!

coffee beans once roasted is a perishable food item.

I wouldn't listen to commercial roasters for a start, I'd rather get impartial advice from sources that have no vested interest. Or better still… proper double blind research…

+1. Thats why I squeeze and freeze. And most importantly to fully thaw while still sealed.

        • like i said, i no longer buy from toby's estate. 6-7yrs they were boutique but now they are commercial. i don't like their beans anymore.

fyi, beans drinking is a small shop in crows nest and i don't buy from them either because they charge too much.
these days, i usually buy single origin or micro lot coffee freshly roasted beans.

if you don't believe me, and you don't have too, you can google it for yourself or have a chat with roaster.

      • Found someone to go halves with so all sorted :)

I shouldn't have discarded my old zip lock valve bags from previous roasters, should've just wiped em down… stumo where do you get your supply of bags?

        • From previous deals lol.

        • You can get valve bags from the BeanBay on coffeesnobs.com.au. I think Coffee Parts also sells them but might be only in bulk.

    • this isn't even a bad price delivered even if you only want to drink the first 1kg….

      • +1

        Erm, 1kg is 36.70 delivered, so no…

        • huh. there you go. I was comparing to my usual local where I think I am paying about $40 for 1kg delivered (haven't bought off them for a while thanks to ozb coffee bargains).

  • Awesome deal - great coffee - thanks James!

  • I'm in!

    Great coffee and great price!

    Thanks.

  • Any decaf offer for this … I only drink decaf - thanks!

    • +1

sorry, not with this deal.. My decaf is 50 shades of awesome

  • Hi all,

2KG is too much for me as I am living alone.

Anyone from Perth would like to share? i'd take 1KG.

    Cheers,

    Faai

    • +1

Your problem in not living alone - it's not drinking enough coffee. Start having 8-10 of them a day and 2kg will be gone in no time!

      • having too much coffee too frequently is not a good idea :)

that said, i love coffee. but i love my health more.

everything should be taken in moderation.

I'm going to say that James has some of the best customer service out there. Also Forte is one of the best blends he has, so this is an excellent deal. Just a note on whole beans though, don't even bother with the Hario Mini Mill, it takes me more than 5 minutes to grind enough coffee for one pot.

I'm still working through my 2kg from the last deal, so I'll pass this time. But still +1 from me.

  • REP, how long will a bag keep for, unopenend? Thanks.

  • Are these single origin or blended?

    • Its a (award winning) blend.

      • an*

        • You could be * write * :)

          It's a blend

        • Yup..

          It's a blend

          It's an (award winning) blend

          :P

  • Bought (thank you for offer) - I love the smell of coffee but don't actually drink it - fortunately my parents appreciate a fine coffee bean. Fingers crossed they enjoy it.

  • Excellent.
    Perfect timing.
Last Kilo I bought last week from Bay Beans will be gone by the time this 2Kg come.

  • Quick help please. First time ordering from Bay Beans. Does anything else happen after I paid with PayPal? It did not ask for a delivery address (just defaulted to my PayPal address), there was no redirect back to Bay Beans, no "register for an account", no "thank you".

    • When I ordered I had the same issue - ie payment processed and that's it - assumed that was all I needed to do and didn't think much else of it.

    • let me give you that Thank you now…

      Thank you.

      :-)

PS: you've completed checkout sucesfully. There is a button to Return to Website (I always thought, anyway). Please let me know.

      • I will send a screen capture to james@baybeans and then you will see the ordering process stops abruptly after the payment screen.

        [Edit] Screen cap sent.

      • Thanks Alvian - that is very kind of you.

** Anyone that is completing checkout after 2:45pm Sydney time, can you let me know in the comments if you get redirected back to the (new) page at Bay Beans?

        thanks

  • If anyone in Sydney wants to go halves send me a PM. I've already ordered but happy to pass on 1kg for $20 as it will take me some time to get through the first!

  • Hi

What is the general shelf life of an unopenned bag?

    Thanks
    Pete

  • Just ordered a few kilos. THANKS for the bargain!

  • +1

    Hi

I was not redirected to the beanbay page the paypal page remained open. I did receive a confirmation email.

Lol isn't this the guy who posted up his first deal with a big picture of himself as the product picture?

  • Are all your beans arabica? Also, could you make a deal for crema as well, not a fan of Forte.

    • All are 100% Arabica, EXCEPT for Crema - it has a high quality Robusta bean in the blend. A high quality Robsuta is much better than a low quality Arabica, actually, nothing to say its any less than a high quality Arabica either. Base your decision on the quality of the bean first.

      • Then I'll be sticking to Crema if it's a high quality Robusta blend. More caffeine per gram is a good thing on my watch.

  • Where are the beans from?

  • Just bought some, looks good from all the good comments, can't wait to try, thanks James !

  • deal is now expired, but I will leave the order page open on the deal page for anyone that wants to order 4x 1kg at $39.97x2 = $79.94 (same value, I just have some larger courier satchels left now)

MODS: I haven't updated the title and don't think I should. If you think otherwise, please modify.

    • Can I change to 4x1?

      • Are you talking about your purchase, or the deal description?

Your order was sent this afternoon :)

        • Damn, was talking about the order.

        • Want 6x? :)

        • Yeah 6x for the price of 4x would be good.

        • I see what you did there ;-)

  • darn it, I want 2 kilos. 4 kilos would probably last me a year..or two.

    • where abouts in Aus are you?

  • Holy crap, mine's already been delivered.

I thought I'd have more time to drink my existing stock :-P

    Kudos to Bay Beans!

    • Ka-chow!

    • mine arrived in VIC today too.

  • My 2 Kg arrived today also!

    Thanks James!

  • So quick, mine arrived yesterday (Fri), tried it this morning, very fresh, very good ! Thanks!

    • Awesome!

  • Hey Rep,
I still don't have mine, not that I was in any rush. I missed a delivery from Fastway couriers today (I hate that company) which could be any number of things. I'm in Adelaide, and ordered Wednesday 23rd. Should I be worried, or would that Fastway delivery likely be it?
    Thanks

    • +1

      You've nailed it - Fastway ;-)

Here is a nice little trick, its a directory with the drivers and mobile numbers for every territory. Plug in your postcode, get your drivers mobile number and name and call him/her direct. Beats the heck out of going through customer service. Call from 7am for best effect.
      http://www.fastway.com.au/courier-locator

EDIT: and I feel your love for Fastway - this deal was brought to you by them

      • 4 minutes for that reply. awesome :)

Thanks for the tip on finding my local courier… their usual process is to leave a letter in my mailbox, where they don't even leave a number you can call, just a number you can SMS, and they'll attempt redelivery some time in the next 3 days.. which is somewhat awkward…

Thanks again, James, for the quick reply :)

        • :)

  • I love this coffee, Thanks!

    • Your Sunday mornings just won't be the same.

      • You are right!

  • Dammit. How did I miss this lol
