          I have sold iPhone cables before. Just on ebay, not on OZBargain.

          My stock costs $1.50 per unit.
          Postage for a 0.5mm thick cable costs 60c
          Ebay and paypal fees are roughly 40c

          Total price for me = $2.50

          You can sell them on very easily for $3. Trust me, if you are the cheapest in Australia, even for an hour, you get 50+ sales.

          If you sell for $3.

          Item price - $1.50
          Postage - $0.60
          eBay (7.4% of $3) - $0.22
          Paypal (30c + 2.4% of $3) - $0.37

          Total - $2.69

          Then you have to pay for envelopes and petrol to drop them at the post office.

          Is it really worth .31c profit or less for the risk of not selling/faulty cables or your time?

          I am not here to argue, but what the OP said is very true. I also do it to gain ratings, as they are useful when selling larger items.

          31c profit or 10% return isn't too bad.

          Also if a buyer buys multiple units you make more, ie postage remains the same, envelope cost remains the same.

          I know business who operate on less than 4% profit margins and they are making some serious coin.

      Carbon Fiber is the internal material (the part that connects with the phone)
      Leather is the external material facing away from the device.
