OPSM etc Friends and Family Offer

Hi,

I have to buy 2 pairs of prescription glasses and it is looking like costing me >$900.

I have had this friends and family offer before which saved me a great deal of money.

Does anyone have a pamphlet or brochure that they can give up?

Thanks in advance

  • May want to check out a few comments I left on this thread regarding frames and prescription lenses as I countered the OPSM prices.

  • Yes my husband and I found OPSM incredibly expensive. He ended up finding his glasses online and ordered them from somewhere in NSW. I went to specsavers and was happy there. With my husband he was going to be $400 out of pocket after extras rebates. He ended up with $60 out of pccket including delivery. So check around and google the glasses brand or style.

    • He used Glasses Galore, if that helps. They were great to deal with.

  • Not sure how bad your eyesight is but here is some things I did and found out during my recent research.

I purchased just the frames from Metsuki.

The lenses I ended up going to L&P. The lady there recommended the standard polycarbonate lenses . She informed me that they provided a better clarity than the higher index frames.

As my eye sight is bad most online places can't do my prescription so I thought I'd purchase the frames online and lenses at a brick and mortar store. I figured if there were any issues with the lenses I could go back to the store.

You can buy insurance but that only covers the lenses as the frames weren't purchased in the store.

As for OPSM I do believe RAC members receive 10% discount. You can haggle that for yourself and furthermore ask for a discount for purchasing a package i.e. frames and lenses from them.

  • Take a look at today's Catch of the day then just get the lenses fitted at your OPSM. $30 for frames is excellent.
