not too bad, over priced to begin with

    • Especially Mario Party 8…great game but it's a $59.95 game at best…I mean the game isn't even in 16:9.

      • Yeah, 4:3 is quite disappointing considering it's in the premium price range. At first I didn't understand why there're 2 strips of wallpaper on the left and right, then came to realise it's just glorified 4:3.

This deal is good, but it is not the best, as previously Big W have had these games for around $64 each

not a bargain, I've seen cheaper

      really?
Well then help us - post us a link to a better price - that is currently valid.

What price was it? What game? Where?

Just negative posting with "yeah ive seen cheaper" doesnt help anyone!!

  • not really a bargain seen them cheaper at game and kmart not so long ago.

Calm down nerd, I said recently, not current moron. But $10 more a few days later isnt a bargain, you missed out on that butterbean, sucked in if you wanted one of those games too, I hope you pay $90 in a couple of weeks time and think 'what a bargain!'. Mario Kart with Wheel was $64.95 at Xmas (maybe to NY). Once a game has been down to a lower price, why would you pay more later? its older, devalued and lowers in trade-in value as well.

Do a simple search of this website u lazy grumble to find better deals on the same products. We cant do your homework for you

    Positive vote for you.
    Thanks for posting the deal.

  • Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros

    The cheapest deal was:
Less than 2 weeks ago I got four 15$-each games from Target: Blox and MySims
Then I trade them and add 2$-each for Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros at GAME ->
    http://www.game.com.au/boxing08sale
Total 64$ for 2 games or 32$ for 1 game.

Following the same method this week (still a few days left until 8th January 2009):
Get 2 for 70$ from Target, trade them and add 2$ at GAME. Total 72$ for 1 game.

You need to point out not just any games, the trade-in has to be in the approved list: http://www.game.com.au/box08_03

Also you need to live near a GAME store, not sure if EB Games or JB HiFi would price match the $2 trade-in deal.

But good job in scoring 2 brand new premium games for $64!

      • +1

EB Games will price match. I traded in Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games and MySims plus the $2 for Mario Kart at EB. Beforehand I also checked (at a different store) that they will match trade in type deals.

Lick my cat's balls sash you rude prick. So jaded and so rude.

    • -1

no im sure they're licked enough by you, I can already see you as the cat lady, you old fart, mid-30's with a 5+ cats, some you lick, the others get the peanut butter. Wow, a positive vote for a mediocre price, keep wasting your money. Oh and dont wait for the Wii Fit to be on special, you sound like someone that needs it str8 away

  • haha it's funny reading all this arguing going on on a site like this…

But yeah these prices aren't special at all…so I don't know why you posted it. I actually clicked on this because I thought "Um what's so special about those prices". Sorry but it's the truth.

I always see these games for less than $70…so I wouldn't say save $25 cause I don't think any shops actually sell them for $99.95 except the rip off ones like EB or department stores like Myers or something. Just if the games RRP is $99.95 you don't need to point it out since games always sell for less.

And like others have said, I have seen them quite often in the catalogues of Big W or JB Hifi for $64.

I think this site is to really point out the bargains but honestly $74.95 is standard.

  • i'm curious then…if we are calling a 'bargain' what we think is cheaper than at other places instead of 'lower than RRP', then where is the line between bargain and non-bargain as far as games go? at what price do games start being a bargain?

    • Well I guess only those familiar with games prices (in this case Wii) should post on here when they see something on sale. Just because it's $25 off, agentsmithy maybe thought it was a bargain but that may be just because he's not familiar with the normal prices.

It's a tactic a lot of shops use. How often have you seen 1 shop saying something like 'Wii games, 25% off!…Was $99.95, now only $74.95!), when down the road another shop isn't having a sale but they're selling the games at a standard price of $75. This is basically the same case with these games.

Bargain hunters will know by time when something is a bargain or not.

  • +1

Yeah I must agree, there's nothing bargain about those prices.

  • I picked up Mario Party 8 from GameTraders at Marion (SA) the day before xmas for $50.
    they had about 60 copies.
GameTraders are franchise though so this offer may not be valid for their other stores.
