On the market for a mixer today I went through David Jones doing some research. The Bosch MUM86 stood out among the crowd but it was far more expensive than the alternate options.

I checked some reviews between it and the Kitchen Aid I was looking at and the reviews put the Bosch ahead by miles.

Looking online the cheapest I could find it locally was $832 shipped from Appliances Online, but they are out of stock.

Thankfully Amazon Italy have the Red model and after shipping to Melbourne it came to EUR 370.36 which if using a 28 Degrees Mastercard should come to $485.55 AUD. A Massive saving over the local retailers.

They also have a gray and white model, but although they seem cheaper the shipping on them is more expensive so the red model actually works out the cheapest.

This is the 220volt model so all you'll need is an EU to AU power adaptor and you'll be good to go.

I think this is an awesome deal for a mixer that gets rave reviews.

  • Great find - does this come with an international warranty?

    • According to the Australian Bosch site, warranty is valid in country of purchase only:

Can anyone confirm if this is different in Europe?

Would be a truly great deal if you could claim warranty in Oz…

Just a slight clarification in case anyone's wondering. It's rated for 220-240V and not just 220V so will have no problem working in 230V Australia. That's pretty standard, but might be worth mentioning in case people wonder if 220V devices will work in a 230-240V country.

  • Hey Stratbargain. Hoping you can shed some light on this for me. I'm currently looking at buying one of these however can't work out how you got the 370.36 Euro delivered price.

I have checked Camelcamelcamel for price history and it doesn't appear to have changed since you posted the deal however its showing as EUR 366,29 for the mixer alone and from what I can decipher using google translate postage will be about 68 Euro. This lands me at 434.29 Euro, I'd much rather pay 370.36 Euro if I can.

    Thanks
    Wayne

    • Yep when you go all the way to the final page it will remove VAT. I tried again the other day and it was still 370.36.

Mine arrived Friday 15th Feb, so all up just under 2 weeks to arrive. It was a huge box and the lady at the post office looked at me weird :)

But it works perfectly with a simple plug converter. I bought 2 of them for $1 shipped from this guy - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-TRAVEL-TRAVELING-PLUG-AC-ADAP… and it also arrived the same day :) Another bargain in itself.

      • You should keep an eye on the converter as it gets older. The mixer has a 1,600W motor which is pretty high. Those adaptors are usually used with low-power devices like phone chargers and the likes. If it starts to feel warm you should replace it with a "proper" one, or just replace the plug top with an Australian one. They're about $3 from Bunnings.

      • Hi Stratbargain, thanks for the deal. I've been looking for a decent mixer for some time and was leaning towards the kitchenaid but this fits the bill nicely! Mine's arrived, too and it's fantastic.

For the power adapter, I've invested in something a bit better quality than those cheap ones. The mixer comes with a schuko plug which is earthed, that cheap adapter won't earth the appliance plus might damage it if it blows if the adapter is not decent quality. You should consider one of these:

        Or

        http://www.korjo.com/Product-Range/Adaptors---Transformers/Adaptor---AUS-NZ-(AA01)—-For-products-from-EU,-so.aspx

You want to protect the device!

  • Once you head to checkout they take out the VAT and make sure the cheaper postage option is selected

  • Thanks. Just went through to purchase one. Had to guess what a few of the buttons were or check www.amazon.com and compare but think I successfully ordered one.

    Thanks OP
