Replacement MacBook batteries

Hi,

I'm looking to replace the battery on my macbook. It's done 500 cycles and capacity is down about 20%. Probably not long before it goes into 'service battery' condition.

I bought a cheap one on ebay which didn't work (currently in paypal dispute stage). Can anyone recommend where I can buy a reasonably priced aftermarket battery that will give me a couple of years of service. I don't really want to pay apple's extortion prices.

Battery model is A1185.

    I'm in same boat.
Already 2 batteries from ebay came faulty (less then 75% of capacity, even after 10 charge/discharge circles). Now waiting for the 3-rd.

All batteries were bought from "top-sellers".
Previously I bought batteries for my HP from ebay and they were OK. But I have to admit MacBook batteries on ebay are crap.
I would suggest you to try Australian online shops. Because it's against the law to send lithium batteries by air. That's why you won't be able to send faulty battery back to China to have refund (I didn't want to cheat and commit criminal offense).

Google gives few Australian online shops for MacBook batteries. Seems they all have A1185 in stock. You may give them a try. Neither of them have my battery (Why???), so if the 3-rd battery I ordered from ebay will come faulty, I think I'll have to go to Apple ($150 for battery, bastards) (((.

BTW, recently Apple released update for SMC (or whatever) that should fix large circles number issue (for some MacBooks).
My original battery has 1050 circles. It suddenly reported to be dead ("Replace battery" message) after doing pretty well: ~5-6 hours.
