As Kindle Paperwhite has arrived in Australia. Dick is clearing out this old model.
Most stores are out of stock, but you still can order online and choose free home delivery.
Personally, I like this one more than Paperwhite, because it has larger storage, can play mp3. I don't like the light of paperwhite, doubt that it may hurt eyes.

Sure, the older one has more storage space, but do you really need it? The Paperwhite can still store ~1,100 books according to Amazon.
but mp3, text-to-speech, as well.
Moreover, Amazon has admitted the issue with the light. I would use this one and wait for the next generation of paperwhite.
Given Amazon discontinues Kindle Touch and there are limited stock in Australia. Though the price is not low, I would prefer to get one.

Your concerns are understandable if the screen was backlit. However, the Paperwhite kindle is actually front lit (i.e. the light doesn't emanate from the back of the device, but rather the front.
If anything the higher contrast display and higher resolution (212PPI) makes it easier to read eBooks.
Nothing like the woolworths deals. I bought the keyboard for $45.
This is price gouging if I have ever seen one. I bought the kindle paperwhite for 149$ + 5$ delivery last Tuesday from DSE

$149 was always their regular price on them - but free delivery might help those whose local store has none in stock . There are quite a lot of people who prefer this to the paperwhite though.
The Paperwhite is only like $20 more, i don't see how this is worth it
