COTD - Lavazza Beans (6x1kg bags) $77.27 shipped - $12.87/kg

What I say…

It's a lot of coffee. Doubtful you'll consume 1kg of coffee a fortnight.
Probably more suitable for office-type situations (or a group-buy among your mates).
I really like Lavazza coffee.
<$13/kg (delivered) for these is actually bloody cheap.

Now, what the "Catch" says…

  • Best before 30/8/2103 which means the coffee was probably roasted 12/18 months before the date

    • 2103?
Damn, that's some good vacuum sealing.

2103 is when COTD will ship it to you! :p

Bought a 1kg bag at Woolies this week. That has a best before of 20/08/2014. So, yes the patch offered by COTD seems to be 12 month older than current stock.

Thats a good deal at Woolies for a single bag - $20

if it's coming from cotd it's not going to be very fresh

Italian-style = roasted to the point of charcoal.
    Smooth and mild = Flavourless

Also stale and with the added bonus of robusta.

    At $12.87 you're overpaying but roughly $12.87.

    • You're probably overstating it a bit.

But yes, i'd never trust CoTD with coffee. Bound to leave a bitter taste.

  • I think i'd get more flavour from dried up cat poo than this stale coffee.

  • imagine opening the first bag and discovering its no good - how could one possibly survive bad coffee the next 3 months? thats a horrible risk to take.
