  • Local warranty could be a problem. Isn't ipad 5 coming out soon?

    • -3

Apple warranty is worldwide - doesn't matter at all where it comes from.

      • +8

IMPORTANT RESTRICTION FOR iPHONE AND iPAD SERVICE.
Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone and iPad to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device.

Direct quote from the Apple website.

        • Would they ever reject an Apple product which was purchased from the mighty USA?

        • +4

Maybe, maybe not. They could easily reject it because it's not Aussie stock. Putting the word may would make more customers buy local stock, and those that wouldn't want to pay the extra will just import it and hope for the best.

I don't see why they can't give a clear answer to whether it will be covered or not.

ipad 5 is out in october as well as ipad mini with retina display and iphone 5s

      • Shit Buzz…

      • +1

And what's your point? IPad 6 comes after iPad 5. It's always evolving so compare it with what's on offer today not tomorrow for something that is not officially announced.

  • pretty sadly, new iPads are coming in 3rd quarter of 2013

    • Any official info? Considering the ipad, ipad 2, ipad 3 came out around March/April and Apple releasing the ipad 4 six months later, they might do it again.

      • sorry mate, only got rumors around, but the sure thing is the new iPad mini will be released after the new nexus 7 come out, so i ASSUME the next gen iPads will be available in 3-5 month's time.

  • Great devices. Pity, Apple can't find the right names .

  • almost forgot to say, this is a good deal since the 4th gen iPad and this 3rd gen have got not much difference (A6X vs A5X, lightning connector vs 30-pin, same screen, faster browsing on LTE?, same battery life) the RRP 64GB WIFI 4th gen iPad from Apple is $759 compared to this 3rd gen deal, over $200 difference( save that for the new nexus 7 ^_^).

  • I would rather get a 4th Gen offical Australian product for $100 more.

    • that's $200 more ?

      • No $100 more. Easy to get them for $650 odd now

        • i'm waiting for the next gen anyway..

        • @ jva

Or given your excitment over the Nexus and other android devices in your other posts here, are you just shit stirring, or bored with your current device…

All manufacturers of Tablets are upgrading their devices yearly so what is your point….

        • wow, people get angry so easily these days?

you may totally ignore what i'm saying but my point is just assuming what and when i'm gonna buy my next electronics, is that bothering you?

NOT EVERY manufacture of tablets does upgrade yearly as you said, Apple upgraded the previous iPad within 6 months time you remember? some people do not have so much patience for waiting the new product nor good tolerance of buying a new product which will be upgraded by a newer one in half year's time.

p.s. only one thing you said right is i'm bored with my current devices. i'm gonna buy a lighter 9.7 inch iPad, a new nexus 7 if its frame of screen is as narrow as iPad mini and a new galaxy NOTE iii if samsung does not make it feel so plastic.

          btw @RockyRaccoon, i don't use dirty words..
