Universal KeyChain Remote 99cents + $2 Postage. Australian Stock (Limited Stock)

70

edit: Sorry, sold out already. We will try to get some more in soonish.

Hello,
We got excited about posting our first OzBargain deal the other day, but didn't read the rules and the listing was removed. Sorry about that!

Here is a super cheap below cost Universal key chain remote that we found in our stock inventory during a clean up.

Functions:

On/Off
Channel Up
Channel Down
Mute
Volume Up
Volume Down
Av/TV

The remote works on almost all TVs we have tested it on so far. To get it to work you hold down MUTE on the remote. The remote will cycle through all the brands TV codes until it gets to the TV you are pointing it to. As soon as it mutes the TV, you let go. It is then locked to that TV so you can use all the remotes functions. It will cycle through the most popular TVs first I think. A Sony TV takes about 5 seconds to work, my a cheaper TV takes about 20 seconds.

Opps, at this price I probably should have put a limit of 1 per customer so more people can join in the fun, ohh well, only a couple left now

  • Already sold out. Can't have been a great deal of them.

I have removed the product, since our website allows people to backorder stuff if you STILL have it in your cart, and there are around 15 people with that.

There was decent stock, I didn't count on people buying 5+…
I will try to get some more in if our supplier still sells them.

The other deal we had post (which was removed) we have hundreds, just for OzB, but cannot post it.

    • If you had managed to post the other deal, what sort of item would it have been?

      • Sorry man, I don't think I am allowed to even answer that.
It is 3.99, thats all I will say.

This was just an underhanded way to get people to his site - As his other post was removed as illegal.

The site does not sell such items. He obviously just ordered (or will order) a few as a 'come-on' to attract OzBargainers to the site.

Here is a super cheap below cost Universal key chain remote that we found in our stock inventory during a clean up.

I don't believe you. Show us a Google cache of you selling this item in the past.

As his other post was removed as illegal.

might pay to know what your talking about before you open your mouth, "those" things are NOT illegal in australia and Nintendo have no legal right to do anything about it, what they can do tho is send threats of legal action to sites like OzB which would put them out of business caus big companies have the cash to waste keeping cases like this in the legal system for decades if they wish.

might pay to know what your talking about before you open your mouth,

So why did an OzBargain Mod remove the post?

I remember that the reason given mentioned the word illegal.

Perhaps a Mod could let us know?

The point is - this site does not normally sell such items. All other items and services on the site are ones that are not permitted on OzBargain. The OP has not shown that they ever sold such an item, or why it would be suddenly 'found' in their stock. Also, no quantity was ever revealed. There MAY have been some, there MAY not. The OP may have discovered his mistake in allowing multiples to be purchased - realised he would have to order too many remotes, so removed the item.

I believe the posting is dishonest, and a misuse of Oz Bargain.

        • So why did an OzBargain Mod remove the post?

because in the past nintendo threatened legal action if OzB advertised "mods" on this site, becaus nintendo does not want you using there hardware for any homebrew programs etc (legal or not) as gets done with things like linux on ps2's and xbmc on xbox1's. the big companys simply dont like it when you use the hardware you own to do anything else apart from a licensed product (which they make huge profits out of).

its like going out to buy a new toyota, then finding out your new car will only turn into "licensed" toyota branded service stations and having to pay $15 per litre for fuel when the BP and shell on opposite corners are selling better quality "unlicensed" fuel for $1.40…. (sorta like how it was illegal for you to use XBMC on an XBOX 1 even in australia)

  • Cheapest I found on Ebay is $1.26 inc delivery - although this is from China.

    • I love their item descriptions ( on all the Chinese eBay stores.. ) seems like one store puts up a "stupidly funny" description and the others just copy and paste the same stupid mistakes.

                     (a) the person makes a device, intending it to be used for making an infringing copy of a work or other subject-matter; and

                     (b) copyright subsists in the work or other subject-matter at the time of the making of the device.

             (2) A person commits an offence if:

                     (a) the person possesses a device, intending it to be used for making an infringing copy of a work or other subject-matter; and

                     (b) copyright subsists in the work or other subject-matter at the time of the possession.

             (3) An offence against subsection (1) or (2) is punishable on conviction by a fine of not more than 550 penalty units or imprisonment for not more than 5 years, or both.

Note: A corporation may be fined up to 5 times the amount of the maximum fine (see subsection 4B(3) of the Crimes Act 1914 ).

    Summary offences

             (4) A person commits an offence if:

                     (a) the person makes a device; and

                     (b) the device is to be used for copying a work or other subject-matter; and

                     (c) the copy will be an infringing copy and the person is negligent as to that fact; and

                     (d) copyright subsists in the work or other subject-matter at the time of the making of the device and the person is negligent as to that fact.

Penalty: 120 penalty units or imprisonment for 2 years, or both.

             (5) A person commits an offence if:

                     (a) the person possesses a device; and

                     (b) the device is to be used for copying a work or other subject-matter; and

                     (c) the copy will be an infringing copy and the person is negligent as to that fact; and

                     (d) copyright subsists in the work or other subject-matter at the time of the possession and the person is negligent as to that fact.

Penalty: 120 penalty units or imprisonment for 2 years, or both.

             (6) To avoid doubt, recklessness is the fault element for the circumstance in paragraphs (4)(b) and (5)(b) that the device is to be used for copying a work or other subject-matter.

             (7) An offence against subsection (4) or (5) is a summary offence, despite section 4G of the Crimes Act 1914 .

    Strict liability offence

             (8) A person commits an offence if:

                     (a) the person makes a device; and

                     (b) the device is to be used for copying a work or other subject-matter; and

                     (c) the copy will be an infringing copy; and

                     (d) copyright subsists in the work or other subject-matter at the time of the making of the device.

    Penalty: 60 penalty units.

           (10) Subsection (8) is an offence of strict liability.

Note: For strict liability, see section 6.1 of the Criminal Code .

No need to prove which work etc. is to be copied

           (11) In a prosecution for an offence against this section, it is not necessary to prove which particular work or other subject-matter is intended to be, or will be, copied using the device.

    • just one simple way this sort of moronic laws fail….

      (1) A person commits an offence if:
      (a) the person makes a device, intending it to be used for making an infringing copy of a work or other subject-matter; and

a colour printer can be used to do that
a VHS video recorder can be used to do that
a DVD burner can be used to do that
a 3D printer can be used to do that
and where it gets even more fail….. what is happening with genetically modified crops, is that simply being a neighbouring farm and the cross pollination of seed can also be seen as "copying" intellectual property.

these sorts of laws falls under part of what i can "copywrong" (versus copyright)

    • there are legitimate reasons for modchips.
if you own the original game or movie but say its a collectors edition, or even just a normal copy but you want to keep it in good nic your allowed to make a copy.

i guess if it were up to you we wouldnt have dvd / blu ray burners, floppy discs, hard drives - all devices that can be used to create copies.

dont take everything you read on the internet as fact, thats what the courts are for. not everything is black and white
