"Magnificient! I felt like a Jedi warrior when switching on. A beam with such a strength form a single AA. While playing around with this laser sword, argl, I mean torch light…."

Above review had my bits tickling and my blood pumping thus I bought it straight away and OZbargained it here for everyone else.

Should you change original post to the ebay option since its cheaper and from the same company?

    • I think the ebay sale has ended? Only store stock left.

      • I got the black one off ebay.

I guess my point is that so that people don't think the $5.75 is the "deal" as I believe most people that have +ve this bought the ebay listing one!

  • +3

Black one also available on ebay for less!

Just had an email saying that my order has been shipped already.. Bang.. that is good!

  • +3

Sorry if this heads-up comes too late for some, but the original Sipik SK68 and close relations are probably the most counterfeited torches to ever come out of China. Good luck in relation to the one you get.
I remember reading a post from a guy on a forum somewhere who bought from several different China stores + Ebay, and each one was noticeably different in quality, ranging from crappily machined with dodgy zoom, to just okay, to maybe genuine. I think there was an outright emitter failure in one or two of them as well, a long with variable switch quality.
Again, best of luck. A cheap gamble, but a gamble nonetheless…

    • +3

Agreed, you're probably better off spending a bit more and getting a torch with a good reputation, like the Hugsby P31 instead of this generic cree number.

    • +1

Sipik SK68 is only $2 more, it definitely has better build quality than these ones (you can tell by trying to adjust to focus):

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sipik-SK68-Cree-Q5-250Lumen-Conve…

I've owned about about 4 of the knockoffs purchased from different sellers and the Sipik has a better build quality.

  • +1

The Sipiks are actually great little torches, if you get a genuine one, or, I suppose, a well made knock-off. For anybody who has never owned a torch with a high output LED it'll indeed prove to be a Jedi-weapon-like revelation.
The one I bought about 18 months ago from the Meritline daily deals page (for about $9) I believe is genuine, and has served me well. Whether the torch with the same sku (still regularly on the ddpage but for 6 bucks or thereabouts) comes from the same 'supplier' or not, me now know not.

      I'm fairly sure that it's a torch.

I'm one of those folks. I go to a car dealer and ask to pay above RRP just because anything less is too cheap for someone like me.

in that case you will love this http://tinyurl.com/cnehpfd

This is a Sipik sk68 clone, you can generally pick these up for <$5 any time, hence it's not a bargain.

    Also, it's doubtful that it's a cree Q5, probably a Q3.

    • It's a bargain for elitists… :-)

  • Damn I want one of these flashlights but I keep reading the brand as "FREE" in the title, only to get disappointed.

Can you cut off someone's head with it?

  • thanks ordered one yesterday
