XBOX 360 S 250GB + HDMI Cable + BF3 or ME3 + BioShock + Forza 4 + Skyrim $298 @ JB Hi-Fi Robina

630

This is my first deal, so please be nice. :)

I was at the JB Hi-Fi store in Robina QLD and they are offering this deal instore to compete with the deal EB Games is offering right next to them. I did some research and couldn't find a better deal, so I picked up a bundle from the JB Hi-Fi in Oxley, who agreed to match the offer (picture of receipt included).

The bundle includes:

  • Xbox 360 S 250GB Console
  • HDMI Cable
  • Choice between Battlefield 3 or Mass Effect 3
  • BioShock Infinite
  • Forza 4
  • The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Full Game Download Token

All for $298 instore @ JB Hi-Fi Robina QLD.
I just called them and they said that there's plenty of bundles in stock.

I guess I'd be willing to split this three way with you if I could have half the HDMI and half the power cord.

A good deal - but next gen will be coming out soon. Not sure it is the time to buy a console if you didnt have one already.

This won't stop working when the next gen comes out .. games will still be around and even cheaper. You can play this while you wait for the next gen prices to come down from the clouds.

I agree to a point - but this gen console prices will start to crash also once next gen comes out. If you have waited 7 years to get an xbox 360 - I can't see what difference 6 months will make.

I dunno. I'm kind of of the midset that as long as those are games you want, paying $50 to maybe $100 more now isn't such a great cost for the amount of time you should get out of the console between now and then. When the new XBox hits, new titles will still carry a decent cost even if the console itself drops in price, so to that end this pack seems like good value.

Given MS hasn't announced anything, theres a good chance the next XBox won't drop until next year anyway.

        • They will definitely launch for this Christmas. The hardware deals i.e cpu / apu have all signed off - it wont take long to ramp up production. They have been working on the software side for ages already.

        • We'll see. They may well release in time for Xmas, but I'm skeptical why they wouldn't have announced the console given it would have to release within about 6 months to really hit that period (probably want to be on the market in November). If they were ready, all they are doing is trickling sales and hype Nintendo and Sony's way. Maybe they feel they will sabotage their 2013 releases in the process, but I'm unsure now that GoW is out the door whether they have any exclusives that really need that sort of protection.

I think a early to mid 2014 release is more likely to be honest. Even if it does ship there is no guarantee we'd get it day one…we didn't with the 360.

Now is a great time to buy a console.

It's cheap, and there is a huge library of fantastic games you can instantlychoose from, that are also cheap.

When a new console launches, they're really expensive, and probably only have one or two games worth buying at launch. It usually takes about a year until the good stuff comes out, and from then on they're sporadically released at different times during the year.

      • Agreed, especially if backward compatibility is not on the cards.

Also more likely to be hardware issues with the first generation of console.

    • I still have the XBOX 1 and nothing else.

But will continue to wait for a true full HD console.

  • Very good price.

  • A lot of tags for one bundle. Good price.

  • That's a good bundle. If I did not already have an xbox I would buy that.
All these bundles that are coming out only have the 250 GB hard drive. Would be better with the 320 GB hard drive, maybe they are trying to clear out the 250 GB. Would have thought at least one of these xbox bundles out there would have the 320 GB hard drive.

  • Shut up and take my money!

That's a pretty damn sharp price. It's even tempting to me with my already perfectly working xbox. Reason being, I have the elite (120gb I think); no wifi(cables no an option). I've never got enough HDMI cables for some reason so an extra would be handy and it's got a good selection of games too. Who could possibly complain about having a shiny new and slimmer console too?

Without looking too hard, some prices for my instance:

    Wifi adapter ~ $70
250gb hard drive upgrade ~ $70 from some shady looking sellers on ebay (probably HK knock-offs)
HDMI cable (depending on what they give you ~$20
    Battlefield 3 or Mass Effect 3 $38
    Bioshock Infinite $55
    Forza 4 $35
    Skyrim $33
    Total $323

So the value for me has already exceeded the cost, and that isn't even considering the fact you get a console too.

But unfortunately I live in reality and the missus would likely summon a dremora/is one herself so "good value" just won't cut it as my excuse to dish out 300 on an xbox I already own hahaha.

    • I am in exactly the same boat as you, though already have skyrim, bf 3 and me 3….

not a fan of racing games which only leaves Bioshock as my throw in game but still.
