GoPro Hero 3 (Black) - I am going overseas in a week so I can claim back GST

According to the customs website;

To claim a refund you must:
Spend $300 (GST inclusive) or more in the one store and get a single tax invoice.
Have purchased the goods no more than 30 days before your departure from Australia.
Wear or carry the goods on board the aircraft or ship and present them along with your original tax invoice, passport and international boarding pass to a Customs and Border Protection Officer at a TRS facility.

So I could get a 10% refund if I buy a GoPro from a legit store that charges GST.

Looking for some suggestions on some good prices and where to find one keeping in mind I can claim back 10%. Cheapest I have seen is $375 with that eBay group deal today, but I highly doubt the invoice would include GST (I think they are sourcing them from Hong Kong). If I payed $412.5 in store and claimed 10% back, it would be $375 in total. So if you could show me somewhere I could get it for $412.5 or less that would be awesome!

Thanks guys!

  • You calculate the GST by dividing by 11. Australian retail stock still usually cost more than imports even without the GST.

    • My mistake, didn't have a calculator on me so I just guessed the figures.. fixed it up now.

      • You can't really expect to get Australian stock for the price of a grey import minus GST. It's $456 at Jb Hifi

    Honestly, just buy it from a reputable online store. You'll need the warranty.
