Hotelclub - USD $20 +$20 = $40 credit to new and existing members
zhenjie on 06/02/2009 - 15:16 (www.hotelclub.com)

Two offers from Hotelclub to get a total of US$40 credit towards your next hotel booking;

1st = Signup for a new account with $20 credit @ http://www.hotelclub.com/us50/ *Thanks Ozpete!
2nd = Claim an extra $20 credit @ https://www.hotelclub.com/2009Specials/ (Available to new and existing members)

The 2nd credit has to be used before February 15th.

Hint: Using seperate emails you can create multiple accounts, therefore book multiple days. Just tell the hotel reception you booked under different accounts and they usually let you combine it all.

USD$40 = ~$63 Aussie dollar. So great savings to be had. Pretty much free accommodation to some SE Asia hotels.

http://www.hotelclub.com/tube/ - Offer for 25 pounds, not sure if this works for non-uk residents though.

liparj on 06/02/2009 - 18:20 ¶

The UK offer states it’s for bookings made by 31 December 2008.. Similarly, the $20 for new members is only valid to end March 2008…

Or have I got it wrong?

Just signed up for the 25 pounds UK offer and it’s expired. I didn’t get any bonus credit. So this one doesn’t work.

Warning to anyone who opened multiple accounts:
they just cancelled all my bookings (even where I paid money on top) and suspended my accounts. According to an American website this is happening to everybody who had opened more than one account now. Bugger. They haven’t mentioned anything about refunding the extra money paid.

Perhaps when using a different account, use a different computer or change IP addresses/clear cookies. Depends what they are using to check for duplicates. Maybe different credit cards as well…

That sucks Castrom. Hope the trip wasn’t soon.

did you use the same details and email address’s for all your accounts?
i wanted to book some NZ accommodation using this site, but i wont if what you say is right..

…hope I’m not revealing too much, but I used different names (brother, sister, parents,etc) and different emails/passwords for the accounts, but MY name, email, address and credit card as staying “Guest” for the bookings. Guess they were searching for anything matching. As a matter of fact I’ve told two workmates about it and booked a holiday for them too (in their own names and accounts), but used my credit card (as the charge would have been $0.00 anyway). Their accounts got suspended too and bookings cancelled. Feel sorry for them.

I just hope they refund the extra paid money on my other bookings.

PS: At www.flyertalk.com you can find similar stories, already dating back to early february. I wonder if they do this to everybody or only the ones who really overstepped it. I must admit I went a bit on a booking frenzy… :( Shame on me. Guess I need to get a few more identities and credit cards now. lol Just kidding.

Thanks for the heads up guys, I don’t think I will risk making another account after what you’ve been through, sounds really disappointing :(

$20 USD for existing members is still an OK bonus however for some of their accomodation prices.

I just got most of my extra paid money refunded (unfortunately to a worse exchange rate than when I paid), except the two most expensive nights - still waiting for that (together about $130).

I actually used mutiple accounts to book a few hotels last night :P Now I am a bit concerned about my bookings…

Castrom8, can I ask when they sent you an email, and cancelled your bookings? Was that soon after your booking, or was that very closed to your check-in dates? I am just not sure when they will contact me if they are going to cancel my bookings. Also, luckily you got most of your money back, but did they charge you any cancelation fee (usually $35 for cancelation fee if the customer wants to cancel a booking)? Cheers!

It appears my money is being refunded. Fortunately, I opted to pay in AUD

zhihua76: I booked late last year (around December) for rooms in May this year. They cancelled the bookings in February this year. No cancellation fee was charged.
