Looking for Ultrabook < $1500

Hey guys, im looking to buy an ultrabook for myself and some family members, does anyone know of a good ultrabook undner $1500?

Min Specs:
12-13" touch screen
SSD

I dont know much about the new wave of windows 8 ivy bridge touchscreen ultrabooks, so I figured best to just ask the pros.

Appreciate the help guys.

    • Yeah I was seriously considering it, but I'm a bit wary of the battery life (reviews say 3.5 hours). I'm willing to pay a premium for better battery life than that.

  • Haswell isn't too far away. Can you wait? Supposedly battery is going to be a large jump over ivy bridge. Plus I'd seriously consider hybrids tablet/ultrabook. As in detachable dock.

    • I haven't tried a detachable dock. If was going to upgrade to a hybrid I'd probably pick something like a Lenovo Twist*. (Though ideally something with a stylus like a Toshiba Portege M780. Unfortunately Toshiba doesn't seem to want to sell laptops instead directing you to resellers who don't sell the M780)

  • Hey guys, just a sneaky bump as im still looking for an ultrabook and could still use some help. At the comments: Unfortunately I can't wait for Haswell as this is a rather urgent need. Im looking for a premium ultrabook (willing to spend up to $1500), provided the specs warrant the price. Im also looking for touch screen capability. Right now im considering the Dell XPS 12, Lenovo Twist/Yoga or an ASUS zenbook. Though my ideal laptop would be something like the ASUS Transformer Book, which combines a fully fledged laptop with a detachable screen. Unfortunately it still hasnt been released.

    Appreciate any suggestions.

    • If price is an issue, you could get the xps12 cheaper through the dell outlet. I've heard it's a great laptop.
