They’re not losing it for at least several more years, and Microsoft intends to keep CoD on PlayStation indefinitely.
MS pitched COD to stay on PS for 10 years and Sony has even rejected that.
PS won't be satisfied for anything less than indefinite which they probably won't get.That was before it as court.
They also said that for Bethesda titles.
Even if it was losing cod, I have PlayStation Plus primarily for the monthly games and library, and not for online play. I have had my PS5 for 2 years and the only time I have played online was when I first fired up Cod MW2, as it was still installing single player, after that, haven't touched it. Online gaming is not my thing.
I like that it has introduced me to a lot of games I would not have otherwise played.
Sony should take the lead and make Online multiplayer free. Take Playstation Plus back to it's roots and be only about monthly games since that what it started as and is its main selling point.
Havent bought a COD game in about 5+ years and only ever bought them when they got cheap. Played warzone maybe twice and just cant get into it. There are so many battle royal games I dont think Sony would miss it. Microsoft would probably lose more by not having it on PS really.

Well i did it last night and it came by email after about 10 mins. Then used it to buy a few games from the PS store straight away. No idea about the terms for the $10, but it worked for me.

Actually now that I checkout, Essential reverts back to $80 but upgrading to Extra and Deluxe still applies the discount. I guess because I’m technically a new customer for those two. Bummer
I completely missed out on the BF sale, so this is opportune, while having said that, I don't think I even played more than 3 games on the PS5 in 2022. I put a 2TB SSD in, still waiting for the games (sic).
From memory, I signed up to last year's Black Friday sale.
For those having trouble, (The PS store is archaic) I used the PS app to navigate through to the subscriptions/Manage Subscription page(s).
You have to go into "Learn More" and so on, about 8 menus deep to get to the Subscription page that gives you the 1/3/6/12 Month option.You can also use the Account management pages, but the discount doesn't show up until it goes into the 'shopping cart' stage.
Funnily enough I just renewed mine as it expired a few days ago, open OZB and this is on the front page. Good timing for mine to expire!

Once you sign in, go to the plan that you want and click proceed. The discounted price only showed in the next screen. You need to make sure you've signed into your PS account otherwise it will always show the full price. To add on extra years just repeat the process. I've now got a subscription till 12/2025 for $120

It asked me to then sign in. After signing in, the prices then updated to the 50% off prices. You should see the discounted prices before you select your payment method.

Looked at the deal in the PS store and thought $100 was too much but still seeing plenty of PS5 games I really want to play in the catalogue. Then buy $100 worth of games, half are cheap ps4 ones and half ps5 decent ones… Sometimes me and common sense don't agree lol

Because there is a cap when upgrading to ps plus extra and deluxe from the essential ps plus. I think it was $185 deluxe and $135 for extra.
Catch is you need to stack 10 - 15 years (who's willing to do that?!?!) to get some great value (imo)
So if you say for example stack 10 years…
at $40×10= $400 + $185 deluxe upgrade = $585 / $58.50 a year for the deluxe tier instead of $155×10 = $1550 RRP (62.25% discount)Or 15 years…
At $40×15= $600 + $185 deluxe upgrade = $785 / $52.33 a year for the deluxe tier instead of $155×15 = $2325 RRP (66.24% discount)You can just opt for the extra tier but using the examples provided, $50 more for the deluxe tier spread over 10 - 15 years, becomes $5 - $3.33 a year to make that upgrade finally worthwhile for me.

This combined with 15% off Ultimate gift cards at Coles (redeem Ultimate for Ebgames vouchers online, then buy PS plus gift cards online with those Ebgames gift cards). This comes to $34 per year for PS plus (essential level).
After you take the deal up once on the PS store fir the first time, scroll down to where it says Buy again and save ($39.95 for the next 12 months). Stack multiple years, and as mantrex suggests if you are interested in the higher tiers you can finally upgrade to a higher level at a good price once you have stacked many years. If not, this offer still allows a great price for numerous PS Plus years if you can pay in advance.
I was going to factor in this method, but its just the availability of the gift card I wasn't certian on as they are sold out at my 2 nearest coles.
But like you mentioned this deal only gets better if you can utilise the 15% cards, given people are willing to stack for multiplte years.

They were confused about why the discount wasn't going through at checkout as it should be working (lapsed account since Feb).

Signed up for Essential during Black Friday sale, but it's offering a discount to upgrade tiers. I can get 350days of PS Extra for $52.88 or PS Deluxe for 72.12.

BTW for those who don't know: there's a fair few free-to-play MMO games where you don't need PS Plus to play online, e.g. Warzone II, DMZ, Fortnite, Armored Warfare, World of Tanks etc. This surprised me, I wasn't expecting that at all and it makes PS Plus seem even more superfluous.
The cloud saves, ps plus discounts, along with the free (rented?) monthly games and followed by a little bit of multiplayer. For me, $40 a year / $3.33 a month I see as great value.
I do have a massive catalogue of ps plus claimed games that I have access to, which adds more value to this and is great…whats bad is that I don’t really own these games.

I purchased my PS5 a few days ago now and when I was looking to get a PS Plus subscription to start downloading some of the games it gives access to, and finally start using the system, I ran into the same issue a lot of people have been whether I'm on my main account which lapsed sub in 2020 or on a freshly made one.
After a few days of trying to contact support and trying tirelessly to get the deal working somehow I managed to get in contact with someone from customer service earlier this morning and after explaining my plight, and sending them screenshots of the issue all they had for me was an apology. They said that all they could do was refer my issue to a "specialist team" who'll contact me via email at a later date.
Three days deep into trying to setup my fxcking console and it's still ongoing!

I had an original Playstation and experienced some amazing console launches since that first one as a young child, this all truly seems ridiculous if I put myself back in that perspective.I absolutely refuse to pay $150 aud for what I'm aware should cost me $94.95 if I purchase it within 3 days from now.

^Eccend are you trying on the PS App? It seems to be working on there for me now finally, although it's saying $104.95 for 12 months of Extra instead of $94.95, that's likely due to the fact I'm from NZ and Sony of course wouldn't allow me to relocate to another country and actually change my region upon doing so, that'd be preposterous.

It will only show if you are not currently a member. Once I re-joined, today, I can no longer see the 50% promos when signed in.
