RT-AX1800S works fine on slower speeds. I wouldn't get it for Gigabit as it has a dual-core (4 VPE) processor.

Purchase a TP-Link Deco 2-pack or 3-pack mesh system. Plugin a Deco router the nbn box and put the other Deco's where you need them.

That sucks. Most don't seem to have a problem with Leaptel.
I don't know if there is a technical reason. nbn seem to be keeping symmetrical speeds for enterprise business users.
