One of the best gaming experiences I've had in years. Even helped me get into Control, which I had tried to get into years earlier but hadn't quite clicked for me.
I love Alan Wake, I tried to get into Control, unfortunately not for me. I'll give Quantum Break a go though.
Highly recommend Silent Hill 2 if you haven't played it yet (either original or remake).
This game is genuinely incredible. For me it has the perfect mix of story, light RPG elements, shooting stuff and puzzles.
And the graphics and effects used in it are mind blowing.A true piece of art!
Outstanding game, just turned into a bit of grind. This is a great price though. I couldn't wait for it to go on sale after how good the first one was. Call me crazy but I preferred the first one.
I couldn't finish the first, it was too slow and clunky. This on the other hand sucked me in.
Really? I loved the first one. For me, it had the perfect balance of combat and puzzles. The second one was way too story focused and heavily relied on problem solving. The graphics were impeccable though.
I played the first one when it first came out on the Xbox 360 but I too never finished it. Do you think I would need to go back and play it again to the end before playing this one? Or does it give a recap of the story of the first game maybe?
Sam Lake did a recap video when II came out which I watched, plus there are a bunch of other decent ones, and I felt up to speed.
Seriously decent bit of entertainment for the price. I loved the first game and though the sequel would fall short, but this straight up surpassed it for me.
I thought the same thing, didn't think it needed a sequel but after reading some of the comments here I'm giving it a punt.

Personally didn't like it. Didn't hate it either. Good atmosphere but story was a bit meh and combat sucks. Could be because I played this right after re4 remake
RE4 Remake was fire.
I really liked the story but I'd say you have to be in for the "Sam Lake" of it all and his very forced meta approach. It's sometimes a bit corny but overall works for me.
It is absolutely a masterpiece to me. I hope not.. but never gonna play any game like this in my life again.

The first game gave me serious Garth Marenghi vibes, which I'm not sure was intentional. Started the second one last night (thanks OP) and Alan Wake (the voice actor) is still giving off the same vibes. Great game so far though.
I think it's because for whatever reason they have a different Voice Actor to Actor for Alan Wake, and the dubbing is often so obvious.
I want to like it, I played the first one so many years ago, and thought it was amazing and innovative
Now, I cannot even watch a let's play without losing interest
