Job Recruitment agencies experiences

Not sure if this has been raised before, but from my experiences a lot of them are full of empty promises or don't call you back.

And are a high percentage of them back packers and know nothing about the role. I never got any job from any agencies in the past as I have always been hired directly with the company.

My current role the agency told me my skills didnt fit the role, but 2 weeks later I was hired directly.

A Smack in the face when they came into the office to see how one of their temps were doing, I waved at her and i swear her eyes almost popped out her head. Plus I was hired as a Perm.

I have only negative experiences. I really hate:

    • Jobs that are advertised in states that the job is not in
    • Jobs that are advertised that are not real at all
    • Jobs that are advertised for a company without that company's approval
    • Agent who exclude you from a job because they think you aren't suitable because they have no idea about the role
  • My experiences are also relatively negative.

These recruitment agencies don't have experience in the roles they offer and only regurgitate what their clients tell them.

    • They're quite pushy and only think of themselves.
    • One of my recruitment consultants was aware that I was in various stages of interviews and offered me a role in his position and I hesitated to answer whether or not I'd take the role right away and he dares to say "well look so_fetch its not like you've got anything waiting for you".
    • Outright lying. One recruitment consultant in trying to induce me in accepting her role said "oh the interviewers loved you so much they're offering you one up your title, same pay but diff title" - It ended up being the same role, she just put the wrong label to begin with.

Also what Bruce mentioned as well.

My number 1 pet hate is recruitment consultants putting up ads to fish for more candidates but no job is actually available.
