NOT the best deal ever(nor the latest model), but probably the best price ATM for local AU stock and if you are look for a nice entry SLR.

  • Good price OP. Does anyone know if we can get the price matched at Office works if they have it on their website as a special order?

edit: Never mind. Rang them up and they said they can't price match on special orders.

The price is very good - the same I paid a year ago for the 550D twin lens kit @Dicksmith.

Nevertheless there are some regrets that would apply to this offer too: I hardly ever carry the second lens, so it is kind of wasted. I would have been much better off to get the body with a superzoom (i.e. Tamron 18-270mm) instead. Or if I want to spend less money: just the body with single 18-55mm lens.

Best to go with standard lens and add the larger one later… many have no use for it.

      • Yes, if you are just a beginner. I would do so..once you know what you want/like to shoot then you can upgrade to the better lens

Arguments about the relative quality of the pack-in lenses aside, this seems like a ripper deal. Man, I was planning on waiting until tax-return time for a new camera (for cheap and cheerful afocal astrophotography)… I think I'll continue on waiting…

    Probably.

Not so much of a bargain, Ryda sells it for $698.85 as normal price. Only difference would be the shipping cost of $9.95.

    • I'd hazzard a guess that Ryda dropped their price to compet with Bing Lee. When Bing Lee's sale ended, their price shot up by $100

  • I guess the 650D deal is worth it… But not so for 600D

  • I recently got a quote for 650D single lens 18-135mm for $829 from JBhifi eastland.
