the 2 week wait is standard for all online orders.
Not to mention the future is a bit cloudy at the moment with their merge to Vodafone. I'll probably refrain from signing up 24 months contract with them for a while at least.
i remember a phone company that went of of business about 6-8 yrs ago being a good thing to customers on a contract. Apparently they kept their handsets without having to stay on the 24 month plans they had going.
Don't you think it would be good if the company goes bust? i.e u get to keep the phone and not have to continue your contract?
This is a merger with Vodafone, not a liquidation. Voda will just take over the clients and contracts I would presume.

I think you are talking about One.Tel, and we did have a Nokia 8210 on contract with them back then and got to keep the phone :)
But as mentioned it's not that 3 will go bust. Vodafone + 3 will stay in business for a while, but you are stuck with a 24 months contract when the quality of future service is uncertain.
i read in an article they were planning on spending two billion dollars to improve coverage to 95% of the population in the near future
@looseylu: I think you are confusing 2 different stories. The first one where Optus recently announced they would be spending $2bill on upgrading their network, whilst making comment that this is in addition to their National Broadband Network (NBN) tender. The 95% coverage statement is likely what the merged Voda/3 company will have after the deal is done.
I got a great deal and so did my friends who were also on Orange when we were moved from Orange to 3 about 4 years ago.

i have been with 3 for 4 years now and it's great. It's true their coverage's not excellent, but they have other better things. For example, you can check your balance anytime (even if you are on a contract); for other telcos you just have to wait until the end of the month to get the bill. I can read news for free with my 3 contract as well.
Just get the LG Viewty 3 weeks ago, and it's a good phone, even though be prepared to spend sometimes to learn to use it.
With Vodafone u can check your balance at any time by sending a text requesting it or by ringing up and a recording will tell u, its not exclusive to 3

I'm on a contract. All I need to do is to go to My3 from my mobile through Planet 3 (free). You can also access My3 from Internet (I mean your computer).
Oh, and the $100 gift card is only for new customer, not the current 3 ones. When I get the Viewty and renew my contract, I asked about this as well, but they said it's only a way for them to get new customers. (which is fair enough though)
can you get it instore aswell?
i enquired about this at my local store as i would prefer to buy one there, however the gift card is only available online as if there are any problems with the phone it needs to be sent of yourself. but if purchased from the store you just give it to them.Anyone know if this is true? Is it still worth getting online?
if you purchase online they send a courier to pick it up for you if there are warranty related problems, also you can take it to a three store to look after it for you as well
I purchased my one online. They sent to me after 2 days.
^ Same, I got my Viewty within 2 days of signing up with them.
I also have the phone but I purchased it unlocked when the phone was initially made in Korea (most of them are now made elsewhere without the cute box). But overall, it's a BRILLIANT phone.
good deal, but 3 have shocking service.
I ordered one of these 2 weeks ago, the ordered was only processed yesterday.
I'm expecting my phone tomorrow.
