Well, that just effectively killed the Unique Mobiles deal that was posted a short while ago…

    • +4

yep… i've asked mods to take that post of mine down and have updated that post to link to here… people kept saying HN was better cause AUS stock but was still more expensive than unique mobiles… this is best of both. well done MobileCiti

    It says 799$ ???

    • use the coupon code…?

      • Yes, please use the coupon code to bring the total down

    • +1

Might have to use the coupon code

  • +2

This is just standard price. I'm sure it will drop significantly once released.

    • that's an understatement…
they make great phones - just terrible investments…. it really is quite shocking how poorly they hold their value…

      • +2

Since when were phones made to be an investment? Do you buy cars as an investment too?

        • +1

A business person might. If the phone allows the person to conduct business better, it's an investment as it brings returns.

If a car is necessary to get to work or for work, it's an investment too.

(but yes, I know what you meant! I don't think "investment" is the right term for him to use either. :)

        • +1

If that's the case the reduction of the street price won't affect you investment because the use value would be higher. Unless you invest in cars/phones to make a profit by buying and selling them.

I'd would that samsung phones are better holding their value, than their price (A happy S2 owner)

  • Am I right to say AUS stock is Quad Core as to imported stock Octa-core?

  • USA got the octa core, while us quad core. No love from sammy :(

    • Unique Mobile have the Octa-Core version though?

      • Unique Mobile is ocata-core and 3G only. No 4G.

  • +1

Exynos octa core or Snapdragon quad core ?

I believe the i9500 is the Exyons octa? 9505 is Snapdragon.

    • -1

9505 is the octo core. This is the quad.

      I'm waiting for the Octo.

    • -1

sylon is correct, lostn is incorrect.

The i9505 is the snapdragon quad core, it was announced later (with the initial announcement being for i9500, with an octa core).

Both versions available, Octa-3G and Quad-4G, no point upgrading as both very similar to S3 sigh

      • similar how?

        The S4:
        - has a much sharper full HD screen
        - has a more customizable screen in terms of color
        - has a much brighter screen
        - has a larger battery
        - is lighter than the S3
        - is thinner and slightly narrower than the S3
        - has a larger 5" screen
        - has a higher resolution camera
        - is faster and more responsive
        - has the latest android version and will have newer updates
        - has an IR remote

        In terms of similarities:
        - the design looks similar
        - … the brand is the same?

        • forking out $800 for no speed difference is whats holding me back from this purchase

        • What do you base "no speed difference" on?

        • -3

CPU - Quad Core 1.4GHz of S3 to Quad Core 1.9GHz of S4
even my PC i would not spend $800 to upgrade a measly 0.5 GHz, obviously i didn't take into account of those extra S4 features but still we are talking about high end smart phones which cannot hold its value (50% in 1 year)

        • Do you realize the processors are of different generations? Do you think a Pentium 4 3GHz is just as fast a Core i7 3GHz?

          http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-s4-benchmark-comparis…

The performance jump from the Galaxy S3 to the S4 is perhaps the most staggering, so those wondering whether or not to make the switch to the newer handset can be reassured that they’ll notice a substantial performance improvement.

Thanks, totally forgot about that, just letting you know I love Samsung, I have a S1, S2 and S3 but I just want to convince myself to get a S4 :)

        • I'm deciding between the S4 and HTC One myself. They're both so good, it's a hard choice!

        • While I'm deciding between 4G or Octa-core, what do you guys think

        • In terms of similarities:
          - the design looks similar
          - … the brand is the same?

          -Pentile (-.-)
-The shape and design looks the same
-UI looks the same (ugly imo)

        • Pentile is not an issue anymore. The pentile-adjusted ppi is nearly the same as the iphone 5, which everyone agrees is 'sharp enough'.

  • what if you want octa core and 4G

  • I dont think it has enough space on the board for a octa core and a 4G chip

  • +1

Looks like the model number on the mobileciti page is incorrect? The color is wrong too.
    4G should be i9505 as mentioned a few times above. I don't think there's any official AU-stock i9500?

    • Thanks for the comment about the model number. We can 100% gaurantee they are AU stock, and they are 4G compatible. The specs and model are provided by Samsung Distributor Australia, if anyone purchase this doesn't match our description, we will defnitely fully refund.

      • Interesting, so either the distributor got the model number wrong, or we're getting the 4G Exynos version!

        • Have just got an update with distributor, it is confirmed the model number is i9505. We have revised accordingly.
